I considered telling her about his significance with regards to Emancipation Proclamation and the 13th Amendment. But then I had a mental vision of her returning to her parent after the appointment and saying, "Mom my dentist was talking to me about slaves," and it being taken out of context. Figured it was best to just stay away from that one altogether. Wish I would have thought of the $5 bill thing but we were near the end of the appointment and I was about to walk out of the room so I just said a couple quick things about Lincoln that came to my head quick.

Exactly why do you feel the need to point out that she is African-American? You certainly don't sound like an unbiased healthcare provider.
Kids say stupid things.
Kids say stupid things.

I am not a racist (at least I don't feel that I am) but this story is an example of, as a previous poster stated, a large number of the African-American population being against Trump for allegedly hating blacks. I am very opposed to this as I have not once witnessed him say anything against the black population. I understand other reasons for not supporting Trump and we are all entitled to our own opinions but this generality in the black community that President Trump is a racist is blatantly false in my opinion. Thus, I think it is necessary to mention the race in this instance.

You did the right thing.
Ignore the tolerant Proggies that never spent a day in their lives working to help the African American community other than shouting down their fellow citizens while calling them "racists".
I worked with students much older than this and none of what you are saying surprises me. Our public schools are cesspools of Proggie indoctrination.
In fact, we have a teacher that posts here now who gleefully told her students a bunch of negative things about a new Trump appointee, then had them write "letters" to DC to protest. It is an anecdotal example of a much larger challenge facing education today.
You think this is bad, you should see some of the other Proggy teachers, principals, administrators, etc, I am "friends" with on Facebook. Some of the things they admit to teaching their young students is appalling and downright frightening. They tout this ignorance and are damn proud of it.

I knew there were more then those two but I couldn't think of them. It seems that #16, #20, #25 and #35 were assassinated. Trump is #45. There are a lot of people in this country that would do something stupid given then chance. I hope the SS had its fill of bangin hookers during obamas term because this guy needs some protecting!!
