My lib sister and her black, immigrant boyfriend, with Muslim parents....

I haven't mentioned anything to them about politics since the election because I was just sure they were for Hillary and didn't want to start any arguments.
Last night we were hanging out drinking and they both revealed they were for Trump. I was blown away, but when we talked about it it just confirmed what so many people have been saying. People are tired of the smug, holier than thou, liberal narrative, where everyone's a racist, misogynist, xenophobe.
My sister works at a public school in Nola and sees it first hand. What's sad is she has actually had to report students (these are 3rd graders) for attacking and berating white kids calling them racist Trump supporters after the election. Where do you think they learn that?
I know it's anecdotal, but hearing it from my sister just makes me believe the tide is shifting. If she can be swayed, anyone can.

And I said his parents are Muslim. He is not.
He's an African immigrant, and unlike many American blacks, they tend to be much more intelligent, motivated, and lean right believe it or not.
