I volunteer at my niece’s school so I had to have a fingerprint check done. And I have to do a school safety course, but that’s dine through the school’s website.
I would not agree to interviewing people, employers and retail agencies.

We have that in our public district. If you chaperone, you are an extension of the staff. Background check required
If you still want to go anyway, then you get no benefits such as transportation, meals, ticket pricing, reserved seating, etc. Plus, you cant have any classmates hang out with your child. They will be assigned to the group with a 'certified' chaperone or staff member

If they are required of parent-volunteers in a school setting, they should be required of all volunteers in the school setting

Jbird posted the language his school uses for their background check authorization and that looks very reasonable and I think the vast majority of would-be volunteers would have no issue agreeing to that.

Lol. I was just pointing to the actual irony and idiocy that is government ran institutions.
Mentally disturbed men are fine to be around kids and get in the floor with them and read them stories of their choosing. No worries. Celebration time.
But a person with proof of an even deeper criminal background check than any contract private company could do to go along with a professional certification is still suspect and in need of a screening. Including a financial check that somehow relates to checking for a criminal or mental related history.

Geez really we put boys in there rooms. Put a piece of tape on the door frame. Initialed the tape.

I’m child safety certified and am finger printed along with an updated criminal background check every 3 years.. I did not and don’t think I would sign anything that vague and potentially intrusive.. mine is fir a private school
