You realize we’re talking about a national cap of 60k H1-B visas per year under the law, right? That’s not even statistically relevant in measuring the national unemployment rate.

There were 200,000 H1Bs granted in 2002.

The H-1B classification has an annual numerical limit (cap) of 65,000 new statuses/visas each fiscal year. An additional 20,000 petitions filed on behalf of beneficiaries with a master’s degree or higher from a U.S. institution of higher education are exempt from the cap. Additionally, H-1B workers who are petitioned for or employed at an institution of higher education or its affiliated or related nonprofit entities, a nonprofit research organization, or a government research organization, are not subject to this numerical cap.

Agreed. You should do some research and educate yourself.

It's cute that you think fedgov constrains itself.

Like I posted above, 200,000 H1Bs were granted in 2002.

250,000 were granted in 2000.

Your dumbass is talking about a 60k yearly cap while the government granted 650k H1Bs the past 4 years.

And Elon wants to double that number.

This is turning into a Maga civil war over something that has no statistical impact on the economy or employment opportunities nationally.

How many H1Bs in total are today working the US?

How many H1Bs over the last 30 years have transitioned to green cards or citizenship?

650k the last 4 years seems significant

There were a total of 127,500 H1B visas granted in FY 2023 which would include public and private businesses. That’s is not statistically relevant to national unemployment numbers.

Trump isn’t going to lift the caps on these visas. This is a non-issue and something not worth getting upset about.

Another 135k have been greenlit for 2025 too.

Elon wants that number at 270k.

But that's a retarded measure.

If there are 5 million workers in the US that landed here on the H1B program, would that be significant?

I'm not upset. This is a discussion and a good one.

I'm all for importing labor that serves a positive purpose for the average American. An argument against the H1B visa program is the same argument against an open border. What we don't know is whether the average American benefits or is harmed by the program.

So what? It’s statistically irrelevant.

Also, INS grants extra petitions to account for applicants who ultimately decline to accept the visa:

quote:

The agency selects more registrations than there are visa numbers available based on its projections of how many employers will file petitions and receive USCIS approval. When notifying an employer electronically that its registration was selected, the agency does not inform the employer whether any other employers filed a registration on behalf of the same beneficiary. Like the prior registration system, multiple employers with selected registrations for the same beneficiary may file H-1B petitions with USCIS. USCIS will give the U.S. employers with valid registrations for the selected beneficiary at least 90 days to file their H-1B petition. If not enough petitions are submitted to use the available visa numbers, USCIS has the option to make additional selections.

You keep posting this but your logic is flawed.

You need to be able to post how many workers there are in the US today that landed here with an H1B. That would includes those currently on an H1B, which can be in place for up to six years plus all of those that transitioned from an H1B to a current green card or citizenship. Then you need to consider that number in light of employment levels of affected professions, and do that in view of pertinent unemployment rates and wage growth.

Do that and then we can argue whether it's statistically irrelevant.

Nah, they just showed us how many brain raped retards there are who voted for Trump and use X or post on TD.

People are too fricking stupid to realise the last 72 hours have been a psyop to kill Trump before he even takes office.

You have retards starting dozens of threads a day here melting down.

You have retards on X that have no clue they are being manipulated by bots/shills/anons no different than Reddit.

You have actual retards like Loomer melting down because some purple haired bitch at X demonetized her account then dozens of other grifter accounts white knighting for her.

Then you have all the LibTards, CuckTards, and Never Trumpers laughing at you retards for blowing your fricking dick off because some anon on X and golden nuggy are too fricking stupid to get a job over some illiterate jeet.

Then you have the BlackPillTards who have gone full "Vivek and Kash and JD are all n******s and Elon and Trump are just like Hitler and Stalin and we're all gonna die!"

Who needs the FBI and CIA to assassinate a president and overthrow the government when you can just rape the brains of a few thousand useful idiots on X and then that retardation metastasizes to a few hundred thousand who now want to kill Trump's second term themselves.

You retards will be chopping your son's cocks off by next week and chanting "not my president".

And there were 3 million illegals let in last year who are raping little girls and burning women alive.

Amazing how fast the narrative was changed. Almost as if it was intentional.

You think Vivek is swinging from the other side?

I don’t. I’m not sure he’s right on this issue but I don’t think he’s a Trojan horse.

I’m thinking we need our very own POLIBOARD PODCAST for these next 4 years.

Hail to Michigan & SloFloPuss dressed up in Tranny Gimp suits, all the ambulance chasers telling us how great things were when we had Communism running rampant and unchecked.
