I think the biggest win in all of this might be Musk's promise to make the algorithm public. Total transparency. If it uncovers the blatant corruption I think it will, we might see legislation under a new majority which requires platforms to disclose their algorithms in order to maintain their section 230 protections.

Can you imagine the sky screaming then?

Sure would suck if the algo is some government product that is classified. I suppose disclosing this in in of itself would be a win.

Sounds great, however deep state won’t allow it. You know how this works

He's going to end the pointless careers of a lot of leftist desk jockeys.

If nothing else happens from this, it's a win.

Won't last long. People will game it if public. There are legitimate technical reasons not to publish your algorithm.

Whatever they do to hide it and cover it up, it won't matter.

The evidence will present itself when the very obvious, imminent shift in the overall vibe of the Twatter changes so dramatically and quickly.

I'm still not making an account because big social media is the devil, but I expect it to be more reasonable now.

Twitter Agrees to Lock Down Product Code in Effort to Discourage Tampering/Sabotage by Disgruntled Employees

Now, that doesn't address about damage already done by the same unhinged loons...

If they have any form of source code tracking like SourceSafe, it should be easy to see what it used to be and who changed it.

And any major gaps in the history record should be major red flags.

Open source algorithm is an interesting thing Musk has been asking about, even before the offer.

How would a private company limiting users as it saw fit be "corrupt" or against the law? Section 230 does not require open access (nor does it distinguish between publisher/platform) and, in fact, provides liability immunity for banning users.

If we can trust Musk, which I hope we can, this Twitter deal may uncover a lot of algorithm abuse. Musk seems to be a scientist first and foremost and is relentlessly in search of the truth.

I’m willing to bet a number of our biggest financial institutions, our universities and our government 3 letter agencies use similar algorithms to basically infringe on our freedoms and spy on all of us. Musk may save us to an extent. This taking Twitter private is a big deal.

Your smooth brain isn't getting it.

Even once the ink dries and Musk owns the company outright, Twitter's entire architecture was a US government/Intel Community operation that was actively working to run counter to the Constitution and violate American citizens' First Amendment rights to free speech.

You really didn't think that Jack Dorsey whipped the website up, did you?

Ditto with Zuckerbot & LifeLog.
