Lindsey Graham
@LindseyGrahamSC

US Senate candidate, SC
It appears the French Revolution has now come to the Democratic Party based on initial primary results from New York and Kentucky.

If you had any doubts about who is in charge of the Democratic Party ALL doubts should have been removed.

The French Revolution, you say? In which rising social and economic inequality led to a democratic overthrow of a monarchy and the establishment of a republic? That French Revolution?

Ah yes, the infamous French Revolution, which overthrew an out of touch royalty and aristocracy out of power to install an American style democracy.

Truly an evil forebear for... *checks notes* American democracy.

This is such an indictment of our educational system

The progressives do not want democracy and frankly those journalists likely know this.

The French Revolution was terrible, and co-opted by pure tyrants. It should not be viewed favorably.

ETA: Assassin's Creed: Unity actually portrayed the French Revolution accurately. Might be the worst Assassin's Creed game I've ever played, but it got that (and the locations) right.

Don’t nobody ask about the reign of terror, or the chaos dictator emperor Napoleon created in his couple of stints.

If anything ours inspired them.

I won’t lie.
Right now I’m feelin’ a little l’amour for la République.
quote:

French President Emmanuel Macron said on Sunday fighting racism should not lead to a "hateful" re-writing of history following worldwide protests over the killing of George Floyd, a black man, by a police officer in the United States.

Some protesters in the United States and elsewhere have targeted statues of historic figures associated with slavery or other past human rights abuses.

"I will be very clear tonight, compatriots: the Republic won't erase any name from its history. It will forget none of its artworks, it won't take down statues," he said in a televised address to the nation.

The French Revolution, you say?

Where > 15,000 folks rode the guillotine, including the revolutionary leaders, eventually. We aren't that lucky.

Yep. They forget about the Reign of Terror that spawned from the deposing of the monarchy and the tens of thousands of French citizens who were killed in the violence that ensued. And then, at the end of the Revolution, a guy named Napoleon crowned himself emperor and then proceeded to try and conquer an entire continent - leaving over 3.5 million dead Europeans in his wake.

But sure! The rising social and economic inequality led to a "democratic overthrow" of the monarchy. It's a shame that monarchy wasn't allowed to keep its head.

All of it could've been prevented had the King cut down on gov't spending as advocated by his Finance minister over a decade before.

and Robespierre had a broken jaw from either trying to kill himself or being shot by someone else and they wrapped that a-hole's head to hold it together and drug his arse up the scaffold and sliced that son of a bitch off

The Journalists are actually making his point for him and don't realize it.
