Mucinex sold in the U.S. was previously produced mainly in Mexico, after Reckitt shifted manufacturing there from the United Kingdom. The new North Carolina facility (a former Sandoz site in Wilson) is intended to localize even more of that production inside the United States, reducing reliance on imports. Reckitt already operates several other U.S. plants, but they have not been the primary source for Mucinex OTC products.

I don't know whether to be happy, because this is winning, or sad, because making pharmaceuticals in the US is news.

Didn’t we just have a report that Mucinex and other like drugs do absolutely nothing?

I think you may be confusing Mucinex for the covid vaccine.

Pretty much a no-brainer when Kenvue has a lot of domestic production.

Do they still sell Mucinex? Do people in the US still buy it?

if yes, then is it not better to employ americans to manufacture and distribute it?

No, that’s Phenylephrine, which replaced Pseudophedrine as the OTC cold medicine decongestant.

It was known to be bullshite and not work at all when the change was made, but somehow it got through the FDA(lol$).

It's anecdotal, but my wife and MIL (both non smokers) with asthma and COPD take Mucinex and while it may not be essential, it is highly important in their treatment regimen
