After reading that, it looks like an example of speech protected by the Fist Amendment of the Constitution of the United States of America.

Pretty sure about that...

No one wants you around. You people are insane.

Maybe try some introspection.

I actually think many on the left would support such a proposal because they believe we would lose. Whether economically or militarily, they view this as an opportunity to punish the right and further assert their authority.

It will not go as they think it will.

I think it would likely be pretty shitty to live in either country TBH

What does the right wing country even look like? New Hampshire? Texas? Alabama? Montana?

The way each of those are ran have significant foundational differences.

Do you end up having people in urban areas that are in a right wing zone flocking to cities in left wing zones? And likewise for rural citizens in like New York or California?

I’m in NC and while we’re not technically red, we’re not blue either, but my county is red as can be.
Just yesterday I was in Autozone and I heard the ear bleeding screech of some Yankee frick rambling on about how some locals ran him out of a bar here. He was ranting to the poor cashier about what he felt was wrong with this area.

My wife and and kids were with me so I kept my mouth shut, but this type of attitude and person from the states you mentioned moving to an area and then demanding it be more like where they left is a problem.

What is your problem with the U.S.Constitution?

By all means, explain this attempt at a gotcha

Is there some inherent reason that we need to be tethered to one another by a government of 350m people? Why the opposition to it?

I mean, I don't think men can get pregnant or have periods, and in fact, I think your kids should be told they cannot and to think otherwise is lunacy. Why would you want to live in a country with barbarians like me?

I hate hearing that accent when I’m in the mountains.

Effing yankee twats are like an infection. Spreads if you don’t treat it.

So the states with the most unequal blue-red splits are probably around, what, 35-65%? And the swing states are 50-50. So 35% to 50% of every state would be in the wrong place?

Instead, let's work out some compromises, as has been the great American tradition, and stay united and strong.

Partitions can be disasters. Over a million people were killed when India and Pakistan were partitioned in 1947. As a Brit probably said at the time, "bloody mess".

Why should two sets of people who read and interpret the Constitution in such different ways stay together?

In the past I was all for the argument that we offset each other and ended up in a healthy spot somewhere in the middle, and when change needed to happen to keep up with changing times we incrementally moved (usually toward the left) on those issues. I think the context is vastly different now.

the only real Blue areas are border counties and large urban areas.

Urbanites require massive social programs to survive, I guess.

Name the last compromise the left made.

Gays get married.

Not good enough. Drag queen story hour.

What’s next? NAMBLA normalization? They are in the middle of that with Minor Attracted Persons.

Compromise. Lol

That’s over.

I’ve been here over a decade so I guess I’m a local now. I can tell you that at least in my area, people don’t put up with these clowns. Some Yankee woman recently proposed a new tax to fund a dog catcher because “they had them where they lived in Florida” and she felt unsafe knowing dogs could roam freely here.

The sheriff told her to carry a firearm

I'll even admit that part of the issue is that progressives, through true believers and temporary allies (think suburban moms scared to be left out of showing empathy for BLM), have achieved critical mass.

What's more, I'm willing, perhaps, to leave my home over it. I'm quite open to the possibility that my "utopia" (used in jest) will have to be somewhere else. I'm not interested in fighting some civil war so that 40% of us can lord over the 60%.

Living around more collective resources makes you have a more collective mindset. A guy on his farm doesn't see the benefit of an increase in taxes that results in more funding for fixing a subway or whatever else, whereas the urban resident sees the change every single day right in front of them. The road to the farmer's house is probably the last priority for his county to fix if they ever will at all. At their base values neither mindset is inherently wrong, its just different. Either pushed to the extreme is bad.

I am likely moving in the next 5 years, and the currently and long term prospects of the governance of the destination state will be a big factor.

Not seeing this as a gotcha just want to boil this down to what the disagreement is about.
