If you read most of my posts, I am in disgust of both sides

This was just a tipping point thing and she was the one on at the time.

The USA of my youth would not have tolerated this from either side.

I am old school. Kid is getting yanked out by their ear and get a whipping in the car on the way home, then mom would give them a whipping after just to make sure it sunk in.

Old school meant a lot of beatings. Back then your neighbors, nuns, teachers, and such all had license to beat the crap out of you.

Both Mace et al and the Democrats are helping plant the banana trees.

Should the Dems have charged Jim Jordan with contempt for defying their subpoena?

Sure, if they could get the votes for that. Of course, that would have reflected terribly on them because, unlike Hunter Biden, Jim Jordan didn't actually do anything wrong.

There was a reason they didn't, and it has nothing to do with Democrat altruism. Had they tried to force the issue on a sitting member, they would have had a legal battle. It would be a battle which they did not want, because it is quite likely they would have lost it. Losing such an effort defines unspecified Congressional powers downward and weakens the institution. So instead they elected not to pursue it.

The same is true of gamesmanship with "shutting down government" and not paying debts in the process. Eventually those efforts will get called in a legal challenge. When they do, The 14th Amendment/Section 4 may well blow the shutdown game all to hell. So after negotiations, Congress gives in rather than risking the battle, and the loss of threat.

Mace is a bit of an odd duck, so I don't necessarily disagree. But the OP seems to specifically address her comments today. Those were anything but Banana Trees.

I think it should go through the normal legal process and be charged and go to court.

Sadly there is no normal legal process for Democrats, especially the Bidens.
