We have managed to go from “none of this happened”

it seems from accounts there was no abortion as 'mom' said little girl is with child.quote:
No. The mom is pregnant with the accused rapist’s kid.
But this IS emblematic of how had info gets spread. Maybe he saw this somewhere, maybe he THINKS he saw this, maybe his memory sucks, and maybe he fabricated it.
In any case, thirty people here see his post and do NOT see it corrected. THOSE thirty spread the rumor, SURE that it is true, and attack anyone who asserts otherwise.
Too many are too lazy to research and learn.

You are far from immune to this. So don’t get too far up on that high horse.

Did some of the reporting omit that level of nuance? Yes, almost certainly. As a general rule, reporters are low-grade morons.

Not sending their brightest or their best.
Sounds like.
Sounds like.

So? She was being advised by at least one political activist (and probably more). That’s not Ohio’s fault.

Story reads like the doctor referred the child to Indiana for an abortion, went to the press, and then waited til the last possible day to report the child rape per Ohio law.

Unfortunately, we are about to find out how common this occurs.

It sounds like the doctor released enough information about the patient that people were able to figure out who the patient is. Which sounds like a good case for a review of her license.

I can't even.
So they aborted the kid's baby but mama got her one too? And all the concern is for the baby daddy not to get deported?

guess since they’re illegal then they deserve to be raped.
Guess progs are cool with letting the rapist stay with the victim for 2 weeks while they set up a couldn't get abortion in Ohio story.

He was arrested in the home. How do you think everyone figured out who the girl was?

He was arrested in the home.
We have a perfect example of utter nonsense posted by someone who THINKS he remembers a story, just a few posts above this.

Who reported to the authorities on 6/22? That was 2 days before Dobbs.

She was being advised by at least one political activist (and probably more). That’s not Ohio’s fault.
We were discussing the accuracy of the reporting, not assigning fault to a state government.

How do you think everyone figured out who the girl was?

But it wasn't.
Yes it most certainly was. Ohio law would allow a 10 year old to abort as any young girl would face serious — if not fatal — risks to her health bringing such a pregnancy to full term.

My best guess (and this is not even an inference from available information, just a guess) is that they sought an abortion in Ohio, and that Ohio provider referred the case to the authorities.
