I am? Have to disagree. It is 100% true.

You're arguing that productive young people should be taxed for a system that will be eliminated or completely reformed by the time they are able to claim the entitlement.
Reforming does not mean that it is eliminated. Right now the money goes into a box, then politicians spend that money now on other things and put an IOU it its place. That's why we are int he situation.

Your mind set is that either we push it back or it goes insolvent. You can't think outside the box.

1- Removing dead beats from the system equals money not spent. Adds to it.

2- Those same dead beats are now working... They add to the system.

3- Stop spending trillions on endless wars... Money relocated.

etc etc etc etc..

Think out side the box instead of punishing the people we made promises to.

Just like an entitled little child, you want all of the benefits with none of the drawbacks. You're welcome to leave the country and not pay into social security. Need some help packing, let me know.

You're not begging, if you earned something that you were promised. I spent 11 1/2 years in the military. Paid into the GI bill and was promised a certain amount each month for 36 months while attending college full time. Used all of it when I separated to get my degrees. Was I begging for entitlements?

This is a false equivalence and you know it

I know I've won the argument when you start calling the opposition names.

You didn't have to go there but did.

That's not why SS/Medicare are in trouble. There aren't enough workers to welfare recipients to fund the program moving forward.

Our economy isn't going to grow at the rate necessary to maintain this spending as a % of GDP.

That is general funding. SS/Medicare have a dedicated tax.

Are you arguing we should take money from the general fund in addition to their special funding mechanisms? How? Why?

So? You could argue that the original recipients of SS/Medicare were teat sucklers and it was an entitlement because they did not pay in (no skin in the game). However, all of those that paid throughout the years have skin in the game.

What?

What I am proposing will put me in the red and I won't get a dime in SS/Medicare.

I am arguing that I get none of the benefits.

The entitled children are the people receiving (or about to receive) entitlements. Hence why they're called "entitlements"

Names?

The entire point of this argument is to have people admit they are promoting Leftism.

If you have a problem with Groomer being synonymous with Leftisms, you need to take it up with Patriots. I didn't create or proliferate that term/association.

Trump's digital comms dept really needs a new message board spam strategy, this is embarrassing.

So?

It destroys the argument. Kind of important for a discussion to win with logic and facts (and not emotions).

The same way you have "skin in the game" for Section 8, SNAP, Medicaid, etc. if you ever need it.

Since DeSantis just announced, people don't even know his stance on most issues yet. So this would make sense.

Still the pompous arse I see. You're the kinda guy that I'd have stomped in school just for the fun of it.

So the government needs to make changes. Quit spending all that money on the illegals, kick them and their kids out of our country, quit paying people to not work, when they get hungry they will go to work and pay into the system.

Really? NOTHING the government does "saves" for the future. Therefore EVERYTHING is an entitlement.

Not at all. You can get those and NEVER work a day in your life. Completely different.

Doubtful.

This has literally nothing to do with SS/Medicare funding.

You and JJ both just made this mistake.

You guys don't understand. We have to cut BOTH sides of this coin.

To pay for all the interest and trillions borrowed by Bush, Obama, Trump, and Biden, we have to have both major cuts across the board AND an expansion in our economy. You won't get this by taxing productive people to pay for unproductive people. We need that money circulating in investment and growth, not consumerism.

Even if we do continue to frick over the productive, the funding isn't enough for SS/Medicare. Look at the graphs I posted. These entitlements are going to grown to unsustainable levels. There isn't enough in our economy to pay for them (especially in addition to general spending and interest paymnets)
