For a gay guy leading a tech company in California, he's frankly more restrained on politics/social issues than I would assume in a vacuum. Say what you will about Cook, but I don't think he's much of a zealot and I don't think he's interested in alienating huge swaths of his potential customer base, which is...something I guess.
I don't think he's an innovator and I think you can make a fair argument he's only a so-so steward of what Jobs built. But I think the idea that Apple is going to collapse is pretty far fetched.
I personally think the AI "miss" is truly a miss (Apple was caught flat footed and is clearly behind), but Apple is also conservative and there is still a chance that pays off somewhat in typical Apple fashion. We're already seeing some growing chorus of that school of thought elsewhere in tech, and some calculated pullback of massive spends on AI from Apple competitors.

I’m just pissed he hasn’t brought back the rainbow apple.
It was their earlier logo showcasing that their computers had color.

No thanks. The last thing we need is more woke garbage like a rainbow logo.

Thats a bit far fetched for 10 years. Most people dont wear glasses, or like to wear them.

Noticed Tim Cook went to Parkway Bakery & Tavern while attending the SuperBowl.
Tim has good taste in NOLA restaurants.
DAT’s all I got for Tim Cook!

Apple was never more than a blip on the radar screen regarding EV's.
quote:
Apple spent over $10 billion on its electric vehicle (EV) effort, codenamed Project Titan, before canceling the project in February 2024 and redirecting resources to other initiatives, such as artificial intelligence. The expenditure averaged around $1 billion per year over the project's decade-long lifespan, with additional hundreds of millions spent annually by various partner teams within Apple for specialized components like chips and software.
10 years and $10 billion is your idea of a 'blip'?

They were the most difficult company we ever worked with on design whereas with Tesla they were awesome. They just weren't ready to succeed with the way they silo'd all their research.

Blip on the radar screen perfectly describes them insofar as EV and autonomous robotics go.

Temu Steve Jobs is a joke of a ceo. He’s destroying that company.

That was my hometown even though we lived in a rural community about 20 minutes away. Ive taken a lot of cattle to the stockyard in Robertsdale over the years.
