IDK who told you what since 2015. I'm going to assume you're commenting on Trump/Hegseth and suggesting there's some moral equivalence between their moral shortcomings and those of MLK?
Where, IMO, this breaks down is this: if DJT/PH are currently doing such deeds, then I heartily agree, we have a problem. Character counts. But I don't think that's what anyone is suggesting. In the case of MLK (and assuming the reports are factual), he was practicing perverse things all the while traversing the country with a message of judge a person on the content to their character.
FTR, I don't think anyone is recommending the USA reverse course on civil rights. The fruits of those labors remain.
Maybe subsequent reports will show he came clean. In the meantime, we need to ask what is "character?"
