She lost the vote for first place to Trump-endorsed GOP rival Kelly Tshibaka, who had already defeated Murkowski in the Republican primary, so Murkowski ran as an Independent, and enough Dems gave her the second place on their ballots that she was able to win.

Correct. The ONLY reason she's there is that Dems abused the ranked choice voting system to game the vote.

I think Turtle knew Pete had it with VP Vance voting. So this is to make it appear as if Turtle is working with MAGA. Or appearing to be a nice Turtle saving VP JD from having to go to chambers and pull over the car.

This right here, he knew there were enough votes with Vance so his vote was meaningless. He will continue to screw MAGA every chance he can moving forward.
