I’m 73 and am relatively healthy and feel pretty good. But there ain’t no way I could keep pace with the demands of high elected office. And wouldn’t want to.

These old frickers need to call it quits and enjoy what they’ve stolen from us.

Looks like someone walked into the back of the room that he really didn’t want to see.
Like he wanted to fight them or was frozen with fear.
He did say that he was "sandbagged" when he returned to finish his statement.

I wonder if his statement changed when he saw who was standing there in the shadows.

These deep state puppets are aging out and no amount of adrenochrome (or whatever the hell they are on) will keep them going. This is a very positive development.

McConnell, the mastermind of 2022 but any shortcomings were all Trump's fault even though he wasn't in office anywhere.

Imposing term limits should be a high priority, but who will have the gonads to do it?

Either it’s TIA or he had a seizure from a brain tumor

I myself was basically having this same type of issue.. 4yrs ago.. turned out to be seizures from a golf ball size Meningioma tumor on top of my brain… Thankfully it was benign.. seizures only lasted a few moments.. it was like I couldn’t move my head or speak..

Corporations typically force succession plans at 60-65. No reason have someone in 70s in office.

I understand and agree, but there is currently no age limit and to think politicians would lock themselves out of office in their 70s, is foolish.

McConnell spoke to reporters briefly Wednesday night as he left the Capitol and said, "The president called to check on me."

"I told him I got sandbagged," he joked.

A White House official and a spokesperson for the senator confirmed that President Joe Biden and McConnell spoke by phone Wednesday.

Haven't seen him in awhile. Man he looks like his health has deteriorated fast. Usually happens once you hit 80

Same here, I hadn't seen him since he passed that ridiculous funding bill the Democrats wanted (I don't remember the name).

He looks terrible.

Jeez, now I feel bad for wanting to retire at the end of this year. I'll be almost 68. Too soon?

Personally, I can't say enough good things about retiring when you can... loving life again, doing cool new things... when and how I want.

You need a solid plan on taking the best care of yourself, but..

Yes, work out every day in some way, spend time with grandkids, help my 89 year old mom.
