what kind of shift will we see in minority voting compared to what we saw in the 2004 election (2008 and 2012 are skewed for obvious reasons, especially with african american voters)?

hispanics/latinos
african americans
asians
women

he's put in a lot of time trying to show AAs that he's not your typical GOP politician. will all of this effort be worthless?

GWB had a pretty solid latino/hispanic support bloc. will this continue to shift towards the DEMs?

well latinos and women are sliding to the DEMs

i think the female shift to the DEMs last election are the most irrational. it's stunning to observe in real time

Worthless? Definitely not.

But it might not pay off in time for 2016.

Difficult to give a remotely accurate percentage without knowing his running mate or who the dems will put up.

I can see him pulling more of the younger vote regardless though.

Answered own question. They can be won over by appealing to emotions which, at this point, is all the democrats have left outside of class warfare

My biggest worry there is that they won't believe RP is really opposed to drone strikes and warrantless spying, because they heard the same thing from Ogump.

He needs to come out in favor of making contraception an OTC drug. That is consistent with reducing the scope of the federal government and might appeal to single women (who are one of the most heavily D groups).

Agreed that Obama has taken lying sleazy politics to a new level. One thing Rand has going for him is the lawsuit he's initiated on the issue .

His best bet is to aim for Hispanic voters. Blacks are in lockstep with the Dems, and nothing will change that since Obama has become their biggest icon in modern Afro history.

The feminist and butch women will continue to follow along in alliance with the gays on the left, but the healthy and sane women of virtue will continue to support traditionalism and mentally stable gender roles.

The key for any GOP candidate is to embrace more of a paleo-conservative agenda and renounce the neocon AIPAC alliance when attempting to appeal to commoners, and especially to non-white voting blocs who see AIPAC as an anti-democratic lobby that undermines minority citizens at home for the sake of a non-national interest and entity that is much more affluent than them.

Rand is the only GOP candidate that can reverse those trends in a significant way. His message is uplifting and thoughtful .

IMO, the honest question is do minorities care about things like the NSA, privacy rights, 2A rights, things that most conservatives and libertatians care about.

Obama has been just as much of a shite show in the eyes of true liberals as anyone else. He has largely sold out the ideology.

I do think Rand will get more younger voters than Hillary. And I don't think women will vote for her like they did Obama. She's certainly not as charismatic as Bill
