I can only speak for myself, but based on that neocon speech Hillary gave yesterday, if the election were held today, and Rand and Hillary were the nominees, Rand would have this Black man's vote. I've never forgotten how she and Bill campaigned against Obama in 2008, and it's ironic that McCain, the Republican, ran a much more honorable campaign than Hillary did. Screw her.

hillary's campaign against Obama should be used against her, but i doubt it will be heard

that's not ironic, for a number of reasons

1. she's a DEM
2. she's a Clinton

dirty campaigns are to be expected

I'm not willing to concede that blacks would never vote for Rand, but even if I did for the sake of argument, the outreach isn't worthless. Thinking it is overlooks the fact that voting for him isn't the only way to help Rand. If he can make someone ambivalent about him so that they just stay home instead of voting for his opponent, that's a win.

This is true. If Rand can make Blacks feel ambivalent about the election, it will depress the Black vote, and if he matches Chris Christie's performance (23%) among those that do vote, it will be a huge win for him.

Ex-race driver Emerson Fittipaldi could speak five languages, and said Italian was his favorite (he was a Brazilian). He also said the best language for cursing, by far, was English.

Call it what you want, it's not an answer for the millions that are here. There's no solution in your response for what to do with those individuals, or how the GOP can not inevitably end up getting fricked by them.

Obama has been just as much of a shite show in the eyes of true liberals as anyone else. He has largely sold out the ideology.

I agree with this. On drone strikes, Guantanimo Bay, domestic spying, Mideast peace, etc., Obama has sold out liberals. His reaching out to Iran is the only instance that I can think of that I finally felt like he was behaving like he promised.

portuguese and italian are very similar in their diction, imho...much different and less idiosyncratic than french/spanish

Obama will be a symbolic "government program"

government programs never fail, they either

1. didn't have enough money spent on them; or
2. weren't implemented correctly

both excuses will be used to defend Obama

It would be nice if the Republicans could stay the course in one position and stop flip flopping all the time, at least we know where the democrats stand!, firmly in the left.

Shouldn't Rand remind Black folks that he's the one who called out Ted Nugent for disparaging Obama and has never dabbled birtherism rumors while Hillary is the one who spread Muslim rumors and used Jeremiah Wright to attack him? That's certainly not the DNC's responsibility.

no I have not, he has always been to the left of the spectrum, he did try to play coy in some issues, but he eventually went full left (internationalist, commie one worlder)

he should, and probably will, but that doesn't mean people will listen

*ETA: speaking of Wright, that's a perfect example of people willingly not listening

That statement comes across as pretty damn disingenuous when you posted the following a month ago (Feb. 22nd):

"If Rand Paul were to run against Hillary, Hillary's hawkish foreign policy would force me to vote for Paul. I hate neocons regardless of whether they have an R behind their name or a D."

So yesterday's speech ISN'T what your Rand over Hillary decision is based upon, right?
