Well since over 90% of the elected officials are Dems i would say most not some of them voted themselves into this situation.

they lose their rights?

They haven't lost their rights. Their rights might have been infringed upon. But i would say most of those people would vote away the majority of their rights if it made them feel "safe" or "virtuous".

As would most of the "conservatives" in this thread.

The irony there is the folks who lost their rights put in place the justices who took them away.

To be clear that doesn't mean I agree with the ruling.

Again, it appears that they were. Not sure what you're getting at here.

To be clear I have problems with anyone who does this, left or right. Stuff like that is how we ended up with warrantless surveillance.

I don’t think they are. But it’s a small point. As is this whole thread.

We have cities being burned to the ground and people being beaten to a pulp. But let’s continue with this one teenager getting a paintball.

Sure they do. They have no authority to make you, but they have all the authority in the world to tell you.

Um...no it would not have been! And you're stupid for event thinking so. I hope you don't own any firearms.

I’d say they were engaged in making them get into their house.

Not just here but everywhere. People of both parties happily sacrifice their rights for "safety" And i'm not a fa of those people either. FISA, Patriot Act, Warrantless searches, surveillance, TSA crap, bump stocks, mag capacity...the list goes on and on.

Just curious what the folks supporting the cops here would think if the request was not to get inside, but to surrender your firearms. Isn’t this precisely the scenario that 2nd Amendment folks describe all the time? Needing firearms to protect yourself from cops overreaching into your rights?

Sure, but that wasn't the comment i responded to. And the cop overreached with what he did.

I'm sorry, you know police are at a heightened state in a city full of rioting and unrest. They say it 5 times to get inside and you don't.

Do I agree most of these things shouldn't happen? Of course and police who go too far should be held accountable.

But...If you are wronged get a lawyer afterward and not give reason for action during a traffic stop, arrest, etc.

It's just plain stupidity. Express your protest while complying, but taking a posture of resistance is just dumb.

It’s funny how brave they are against weak civilians who pose no threat while being completely powerless against anything else. Really pisses you off as an adult male
