You won't say how they do care, though.
A group of students at Tulane started Glass Half Full to combat coastal erosion. Pretty sure they don't identify as politically conservative, though.

They exploded because of 9/11. The leftest of left presidents would have ushered in the exact same. Don’t be obtuse.

The privatization of the military was not necessary because of 9/11.

What’s next, the abomination that is the patriot act wasn’t caused by 9/11?
Jfc cubbies.

You've qualified it in terms of government.
How do conservatives value the environment.
By not littering. By cleaning up our metropolitan areas. By natural conservation -- fishing, hunting, etc. By objecting to hideous human intrusion into the landscape ... like the wind farm image I posted. By insisting the Far East, India, and Africa cease polluting our water. By actual recycling where it is promised. By focusing on actual pollution rather than Manmade Climate Change BS.

you're not even attempting coherence.

Says the person who thinks 9/11 wasn’t the primary cause of the expansion of PMCs and military contractors from 2000-2008.
And, pray tell, what was incoherent about my statement?

I asked how conservative suggest addressing environmental ills that require collective action, with or without government.

I'm talking about neoliberalism and the privatization of the military.
You said 9/11 caused the privatization of the military and then started cackling about the Patriot Act. I don't follow your logic.
I can understand using 9/11 to justify expanding the military, but not outsourcing the military.

9/11 was the direct cause of the expansion of PMCs and military contractors, especially under W. Like. That is undeniable. That is simply a cold hard fact.
We were at peace. 9/11 happens. And shite hits the fan. Directly leading to the expansion of PMCs and military contractors.
I said, what’s next. As in, what are you going to say next. Are you going to say that the patriot act wasn’t caused by 9/11?
Acting like 9/11 wasn’t the cause of A is as dumb as an argument as B.
Of course you would say 9/11 caused the patriot act. Because it did. So why are you sitting here acting like 9/11 WASN’T the cause of the expansion of military contractors under W? It is clear as day that is the primary and direct cause.
Again. Super super super easy to follow.

In any event, I gave you an answer. Basically, the answer is pragmatism.

Here is a very non-right wing source who can explain it quite well. You see, they weren’t outsourcing the military to PMCs… they were outsourcing standard guard/policing duty to PMCS….
Oh……. And of course they also will tell you exactly why the expansion started in 2001 under W.
Spoiler alert……. 9/11 is the cause.
anti-capitalistresistance.org (see told you it isn’t a right wing source who

After the invasion of Afghanistan in 2001, the U.S. government used the services of several PMCs in order to train local police and military forces and control the movement of goods and intelligence activities. Private security guards were responsible for the security of foreign targets in Afghanistan, as their employees did not trust the local police. This caused great resentment among the local authorities, who accused the PMCs of criminal behavior. Before the world heard about the Wagner Group, Blackwater was the most well-known PMC. In September 2005, the U.S. government enlisted the help of Blackwater to eliminate the effects of Hurricane Katrina. About 200 of its employees were flown into the disaster area, an operation that cost the U.S. government $240,000 per day. This PMCs “finest hour,” however, was the war in Iraq. In December 2006, the U.S. Department of Defense employed at least 100,000 contract workers, 10 times more than the number of civilians hired during the Gulf War. The scope of activities carried out by private companies ranged from catering services to armed defense of U.S. Army bases, mine clearance and the destruction of unexploded munitions. Blackwater received authorization to have 1,020 employees in Iraq. Among other responsibilities, it was tasked with protecting the U.S. Embassy.

Yes I’m aware that the government outsourced military duties to private contractors. No one is saying that didn’t happen. Privatization means transferring functions performed or potentially performed by government personnel to private providers. After 9/11, the government chose to outsource many military duties instead of utilizing the actual military to do these duties. By 2007, there were more contractors than members of the military in Iraq.
Your own source says contractors were training military forces, conducting intelligence activities, defending Army bases and clearing mines. Calling that merely “standard guard/policing duty” is inconsistent with the source you just quoted.
