Midwest corn farmers fuming at Scott Pruitt and EPA

An Iowa-based conservative group called American Future Fund, whose backers include a wealthy ethanol producer, produced a 30-second web spot citing Pruitt’s Washington scandals. “EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt is embarrassing President Trump,” the ad declares, and calls for Pruitt’s firing.

Nothing says "conservative" like trying to pressure government to continue to subsidize a product that people don't want.

Pruitt may well indeed need to go, but not because of his ethanol stance. He is actually on the mark there.

Maybe La. too. My wife got back from a trip down to Marksville and said she couldn't believe all the corn she saw being grown. There is a reason for that. Just the wrong one imo.

If all the US corn that would be ethanol, was dumped onto the world market, then what? There is a reason Canada and EU have high tariffs on US ag and why china backed off the soy tariff. Our farmers can out grow any EU farmer for less cost, so the us taxpayer is saving EU farmers by paying US corn farmers to literally burn their crops in our own V8 engines, which ruins the engine, that costs twice as much as it did ten years ago due to EPA standards pushed by the corn lobby.
Iowa can suck it.
