If all border traffic with Mexico stops this minute, which country is going to fold up faster? Can you answer that honestly?
This is called a pivot

then you know a closed or perpetually gridlocked border is an existential crisis for Mexico.
It is for the US as well.
It will also do nothing with the domestic population of Mexico accepting an American invasion on their soil.
Why do y'all fail to remember the lessons we learned in the War on Terror?

Good luck. Almost 60,000 died last year from fentanyl alone.

economic development in Mexico to raise their SOL to make alternative labor options more palatable to the population.
This will not happen and most people know it. The reason is because the cartels run Mexico's government through fear. What you are hearing from Sheinbaum is due to her not wanting to cross the cartels, to protect her life. Anyone who feels Mexico, with the cartels in the position they are in, could be successful, is kidding themselves.
So go fish on an option. Without taking out the cartels and burning them to the ground (let's not forget China's role in this), you get what you have now, nothing more.

Show me the facts that say more people die in drug wars than from addiction/OD's.
We wouldnt have fentanyl on the street if Heroin was legal, most of those ODs are due to poorly mfg product.
Legal markets are safer than black markets, not just due to violence, but due to accidental OD.

So move all drugs, cocaine, opioids, fentanyl, heroin, etc all into grocery stores? No limits, and you think that'll be best for our nations future?
From what I can tell, 'War on Drugs' started by Nixon in '71. Oregon started their drug, Cannabis, decriminalization in 1973. Trillions in 2 early 70s yrs, seems a tad overstated imo.

How do you do this and prevent new cartels from forming?
Why will this be different than "Taking out the terrorist organizations and burning them to the ground"?

Do you think they sell weed in grocery stores?
They dont. You have to go to a dispensary, and you cant walk in without proving your age.

That literally closing the border would cause increases costs for Americans? Do tell me why that's wrong

Thats not what was said. He said inspect everything. Then you posted yiur mierda
If we used scanning tech like at an airport it would cost less
Thats my point with you leftards

a. That has nothing to do with the comment you replied to.
b. Most of the new crop are from Central America south of Mexico. They just travel through Mexico. Mexican immigration to the US has declined since the early 2000s once NAFTA really started having economic impacts.
c. The Mexicans who do come here love Mexico more than the US (see: USNT v. Mexico soccer matches in the US).

All of this is derived from the Spanish cultural political concepts. When a mayor is elected, he very rapidly installs his relatives and close friends to power offices in his purview . the opposition is pushed out.
not a whole lot difference between that, the cartels and American democrats

Not saying they do now, but why have restrictions at all? Why have age restrictions higher than 18yos?
Having any kind of restrictions on something"that can be done safely," proves the potential dangers of something.
The War is lost because our society has moved towards glorifying the trashy/ghetto lifestyles.
The constant widening of the foundational guardrails has destroyed our society. Losing the stigma of drugs to promiscuous behaviors is not healthy.

Tomato tomato. That would create an immediate backlog and effectively close the border. Do you know how long it would take to open and inspect every vehicle and shipping container?
