Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador asserted on Monday that his country “is safer” than the U.S. amid the fallout from last week’s high-profile kidnappings of American citizens in his country, two of whom ended up dead.

“Mexico is safer than the United States. There is no issue with traveling safely through Mexico,” López Obrador told reporters at his daily press briefing, according to reports. “That’s something the U.S. citizens also know, just like our fellow Mexicans that live in the US.”

Statistical data disagrees. While major metro USA is almost always a shot hole, Mexico is an even bigger shithole than the US.

Maybe. Idk. Never been to Mexico.

Here, we've violent mobs that run around unobstructed and set fires to everything they can. They injure innocent people. Some have even murdered innocent people.

If you are Asian living in a big city, then you've to have your head on a swivel because motherfrickers can randomly come up behind you and attack you.

Our societal pillars are running nonstop propaganda that basically says you are evil if you are white. I don't know if Mexico has propaganda like that, aimed at lighter skinned Mexicans.

Lot of gangs in big cities throughout the country, that go around murdering people.

Mexico might be safer than some U.S. cities such as Chicago and New York.

What separate USA from Mexico is race issues. Mexico doesn't have those issues. Here we are in a world of our own from all other world due to race issues. I have been a victim for the last 36 or so years due to race and/or culture and lifestyle difference. In this Country there have been people going after others because they didn't get things go their way. Like a shooting of a black man in a dispute ring a bell. There are others don't like someone who are doing things that are creating problems to them and or in the area. (Culture, lifestyle, and education indifference). It isn't really about race what most people are saying it is but the indifferences from what separate from the other race in general. That is why America is high on the list of indifferences.

That’s crap. My uncle, who use to travel in Mexico many times a year, will not go back. The last time he went he moved my grandmother back to US from Mexico. He said he was scared to death on highway. He used to live in Brownsville and now lives in Texas Hill Country. Also a co-worked of mine is from Mexico and i asked her if she ever went back and she said oh no, way to dangerous. The last time I went I turned around a few miles in and went back to US side fast. This was around Juarez It’s very unsafe and you have no rights.

I've never seen any bodies dangling from overpasses with signs hanging off em here in good ole USA.
Nor have I seen hundreds of gangmenbers repelling police with automatic weapons for attempting to arrest the gang leader.
Also, our Chief of Police and Mayor's seem to have a longer life expectancy in America.
Just sayin

If you are not counting deaths or crime in general from cartels then he’s correct

Parts of Mexico are safe. Parts of the US are dangerous. But Mexico has about 8-9 of the most dangerous cities in the world. Worse than St Louis, Detroit, Chicago, New Orleans, or Mogadishu.

I don’t see that many videos of Mexicans committing violent crimes. We already have people here doing that.
