#MeToo backlash: More male managers avoid mentoring women or meeting alone with them
By Jena McGregor

The unintended consequence of the #MeToo movement — that men are now more fearful of working one-on-one with women — is getting worse. Much worse.

Or at least, that’s the takeaway from a survey released Friday by LeanIn.org, the women’s self-empowerment organization founded by Facebook chief operating officer Sheryl Sandberg. The survey found that 60 percent of male managers say they are uncomfortable doing common workplace activities with women such as mentoring, socializing or having one-on-one meetings — sharply up from 46 percent last year. Meanwhile, senior-level male managers were nine times more likely to say they hesitated to take work trips with junior women than they were with junior men, a gap that grew from just five times last year.

The rise was startling enough that Sandberg herself is speaking on it . . .

Sheryl says it's mens' fault and we need to do better lol

Every male of working age witnessed the railroading of a SCOTUS nominee based on false accusations. Who would even take the risk any more?

Indeed.
She says the solution is for men to not have private meetings with anyone

I would never have a meeting with a female subordinate without a witness present.

And if I was on a work trip, I would reduce my exposure to as close to zero as possible.

There are no benefits.

Geez, I wonder who could have seen that coming.

Several of the clinics and hospitals that I trained with after the #MeToo stuff start implemented policies that males had to have a chaperone when performing a physical exam on a female patient. It is getting ridiculous. It will not be long until everyone will have to start wearing body cams all the time which will create an endless list of new issues.

Always a smart move. I never hesitate to do that if I'm doing anything more than asking someone to wiggle their toes.

A company's primary responsibilities are to its customers and its employees, not SJW fricktards who just want to shite on everything.

She has no clue about the word trust. Why should guys who worked to get where they are risk it all by being accused, not convicted but just accused? The idiot feminists supported psychos like mattress chick and guys took note. Any woman can make an accusation and even if the guy can show video or eyewitness, he can lose his career.

Maybe it's time to quit coddling women to the point they have no idea there are consequences to their actions.

I have been asked to sit in on meetings for this very reason.

I really dont understand why this sandberg lady gets as much respect as some kind of "leader" as she does. Why does she matter other than being coo of fb?

Also, I wonder if anyone asked her if she did the survey at fb, and what it looked like in her own org.

Exactly. Especially in social gatherings outside of work, where alcohol is present. You don't even have to be drinking. You could touch someone on the shoulder, or say something completely innocently and mean nothing deviant, and all it takes is one time for the female to take it the complete opposite of its intention. Next thing you know, you are being accused and fired.

This is one of the reasons I do not socialize at all on any level with the people I work with. Besides the fact that I dislike most of them.

Let's not act like this was the outcry from most women. This was a small (probably unemployed, pink haired) segment of women that just happened to make a stink........

while regular women who didn't give a damn are actually working and living their lives. There should've been some pushback from regular working women though. Their silence helped create this BS.

Certainly didn’t mean to lump all women in this group of crazy, irrational women with an agenda.
