I have no problem with them investigating this. They already had concerns about Page from a few years before. If you smell smoke in your house but can’t find the source of it and then later a neighbor tells you they saw smoke coming from your house then wouldn’t you investigate it? It should have been handled better no doubt. Russian investigation should be long over. But I really think not releasing the memo would have served the President and Republicans better.

does that warrant have to be obtained legally or not?

Yes.

This memo does not assert that a warrant was obtained Illegally.

The memo does not describe the other evidence presented to the FISA judge during any of the reviews.

If a warrant is obtained illegally you can suppress the evidence obtained. This memo does not describe any fruit of the search.

All the memo does is discuss one item, the Steele stuff, and suggest that Steele was biased, and that that should have been disclosed.

Ok. So what?

It does assert that the cornerstone and deciding reason for the warrant WAS the dossier.

That is not clearly stated. The judge would have to speak to that.

But what of this Carter Page? What did the surveillance of Carter Page produce?

The memo does not suggest the surveillance was used for improper purposes, such as to obtain and share political strategy. The memo does not suggest that the investigation of Trump was the result of surveillance of Carter Page.

What is this about?

I'm serious here. Strip out the propaganda that is being spewed about this. What makes this Carter Page surveillance important?

It isn't just a desire to have FISA courts operate properly. That isn't it. But if that's all this is, an ACLU support group, then we have bigger fish to fry than a single warrant involving Carter Page.

What evidence was presented later to get the FISA warrant that was not presented when it was refused the first time? Yep. You got it. Keep pretending, though.

You tell me the facts. The memo does not attempt to describe the list of evidence presented, and it doesn't say "this is all that was presented." I ain't living in fantasy land.

A big problem with this, and one of the reasons I'm glad they released it, is that folks have been fantasizing about the contents of the memo and what it means for about a week, without any actual source evidence to talk about. Now that the actual memo is here for us to read, I'm asking some real basic questions based upon reading the actual thing. The fantasies and supposition of the last week is not supported by the actual document.

Fine. As I said, keep pretending. Until we show you video evidence of the FISA court being presented with the dossier and the judges issuing the warrant to spy on Trump and co. you will cling to whatever you can. Because the FISA proceedings are secret, there will be no such evidence. You can stay in denial while everyone else moves on.

You didn't read it, did you? This is about one warrant for surveillance on Carter Page. The memo does not assert that the surveillance was done improperly or what was obtained.

Stick to the actual memo.

But I do agree that all of the fantasy and misrepresentation of the actual content of the memo is much more interesting and exciting than the actual thing.

[quote]If someone calls to release it ALL today the democrats will cry foul again and attack Nunes and say he is a Russian spy...[/quo

What a crock. The democrats have been pushing for the release of the supporting documents. That was even discussed in the House Intel committee. So why didn't it happen?

As a Classical Marxist (not what is confused for most ''Marxist'' regimes) and a supporter of a lot of Liberal ideas and concepts -- this is not very opaque or ambiguous. It's incredibly obvious that the FBI colluded against then candidate Trump with several of their top agents even admitting that they were frightened Hillary Clinton would win. Now we have evidence that they literally paid for a foreign dossier to get the ball moving on an investigation and that several members of the American government were actively attempting to sabotage a political rival.

They have also confirmed what most Americans suspected: That the machine will never allow someone who truly represents the people to take office.

Don't fight this, don't look for more answers because they're all right in front of us and completely expose our most troublesome suspicions. This is good, in the future we may actually have respectable candidates in office and we must excise reprehensible people from our government like Hillary Clinton.

This from the same democrats saying this memo threatened national security & sources/methods? Yea, they lie.

Put democrats in one hand & republicans in another: which one lies more?

So you don't think the FBI should have let it be known to FISA judge that the dossier was paid for by funds from the DNC, and researched by a man who told a DOJ official (Mr. Ohr) that he has a tremendous dislike of trump. Isn't the source of evidence important to make clear?

I don't know the "legal" answer but if the evidence is factual, or considered "enough so" by the judge then it may not.

Yeah, this is certainly some third world banana republic type shite the democrats were up to in 2016.
