You are all over the place. You are all in on Russia being a boogeyman.

Other than nukes, nobody is scared of Russia

I wasn't scared of ISIS/ISIL, either

But people are scared of Ukraine because that's where all the biolabs and money laundering and child sacrifice goes on.

It wasn't that long ago, maybe 3 or 4 years, I would have been right there with you on how crazy this sounds.

2022? frick it. Just as likely an explanation as anything else.

(ETA: And, Jake, on the money laundering - if you don't think that is not only possible, but likely, I just don't know what to tell you.)

That was a sad moment. Dreamy McMompant’s need to be an academic and parse terms rather than a leader with the means to destroy ISIS was as obvious and pathetic as SFP’s need to minimize the horror that was ISIS. All that shite in Paris, Barcelona, Nice, burning people in cages, etc…ain’t nobody got time for that.

Oh I think Ukraine is a honey pot for politician's family at best and possibly the politicians themselves directly. I don't know if it's "money laundering" though, as it's been described on here (where US funds are sent there and split up among Americans).

Ukrainian companies/billionaire paying for influence with private funds? Definitely going on.

Ukraine is not unique in this respect though. That's why it's not a boogeyman, in my eyes. We have plenty of domestic versions of the same honeypot, also.

The problem was ISIS and the terror events that followed is that ISIS was decentralized and took claim for everything.

A sect of ISIS took credit for the Las Vegas shooting, even.

ISIS was terrible, but it wasn't an existential threat to the US like it was posted about on here for years. That's what I mean by saying I wasn't scared of them. Had I been living in Iraq or Syria? Oh yeah I would be scared of them

ISIS was serious business. Arguably we let them grow into the monster they became but the guys I know who fought them said they were straight savages. I dealt with Taliban and Iraqi militias but from what I am told ISIS was a bunch of lunatics.

A guy who has never left south Louisiana doesn’t give a frick about the world? That’s new and different. I congratulate you on your provincialism.

What an embarrassing week for you. Might be time to take a lap and go back to the OT for a while.

Many people still refuse to realize that when Obama chose to call them "ISIL", he was subtly admitting that he does NOT recognize Israel as a nation.

People just think it's just another word for ISIS. It isn't. It's much deeper than that.
