It doesn’t matter that she’s a “citizen”. Her religion and ethnic culture don’t align with traditional Texas values.
Go visit places like Pakistan and Syria and see if you want any of those people coming to the U.S.

In theory, he could have oversight since FWISD was taken over by the state like HISD was. But in reality, leaders let people do their jobs without regard to race and religion, and didn't have anything to do with the choice.

There’s nothing out of the ordinary with that. Politics makes seemingly strange bedfellows but they’ll rally around each other because of their common political enemies: the Right in all of its forms.
