The ole "I didn't know" excuse.
How convenient.

Rosie O’Donnell made illegally over-sized campaign donations to at least five Democratic federal candidates, according to a Post analysis of campaign filings.
The liberal comedian has regularly broken Federal Election Commission rules limiting the total any one person can give to an individual candidate at $2,700 per election. The limit applies separately to primaries, runoffs and general elections.

Alabama Sen. Doug Jones disclosed $4,700 from O’Donnell in his special general election bid last year against former GOP judge and accused child molester Roy Moore, his campaign filings show. Jones’ office didn’t return messages seeking comment.
Pennsylvania Rep. Conor Lamb reported $3,600 from O’Donnell for the special general election he won in a March upset, his filings show. He’s now running for a full two-year term in a different congressional district in November, and O’Donnell put up another $1,000 for that bid.
The ole "I didn't know" excuse.
How convenient.

I've been saying for a while that outside the state contributions from individuals should be stopped.
What is the difference between their "outside" influence and the outside influence the left claims that the russians are responsible for?
It's still influence imo.

Perhaps if you deepen your understanding WRT how criminal justice works in the Leftist Authoritarian Staat, you will begin to understand what's happened to the United States of America, and at the same time, have a rational explanation for these strange "double standard" phenomena we see today.

The campaigns still have the responsibility to return the contribution amounts over the limit, putting aside that Rosie made the contributions. These campaigns have compliance consultants and attorneys who review the FEC reports before filing, and catching contributions that exceed the limit is very basic.

If you want to catch them
That can wait until all the benefits from the illegal contributions have been received.

This. Rosie ain't the only one responsible here.
They all say they want big money out of politics, but what they mean is they don't want YOU to be able to give a bunch to your candidate of choice.

My basic belief is that nobody should be able to contribute to a candidate you cannot vote for. And contributions should be limited to a very small amount relative to the average income of the district involved.
If you want to donate more than that nominal amount you should become part of the campaign running for the office, and be subjected to the same public scrutiny as the candidate himself. You, are your organization, should be completely embraced by the candidate and be required to answer for any issues they have - and the contributor must either respond to any charges.
Something needs to be done about huge anonymous $$$$ coming in - which isolates the candidates from the people actually effected by their contributions.
For instance:
IF the limit on contributions was somebtiwng around $100 - and only legal for residents of the candidates electorate - then the average Joe may be far more inspired to lend financial support for their choice. whereas as it stands now, these pittances of donations are of almost zero relevance compared to the
millions of $$$ coming from a Silicon Valley CEO who wants to buy another vote in congress for HIS personal motives.
Let the Silicon Valley CEO make is contributions in HIS district only, and if his donation exceeds the nominal limit for that area, let HIM be required to answer questions about HIM motives, deeds, plans. Stay below the nominal limit and remain anonymous.

It’s quite amazing that they can’t resist including “accused child molester Roy Moore” .

Actually a valid defense against campaign contribution violations. Intent is part of the statute.
The more troubling thing is she outright attempted to bribe two US Senators and nothing has happened because of it.

Rosie and Hollywood dictated to Alabama who was going to represent them

Mr.Gowdy always likes to talk about that blind folded lady holding a set of scales. We'll see if ole Rosie gets the same treatment Dinesh D'Souza got.

So will they DiNesh D'Souza her sorry arse? It's apparently a felony punishable by 8 months in a halfway house, 5 years probation and $30,000 fine. Amirite Obama??????

Well, in Rosie's defense, the 2,000 overage to Jones and the 900 overage to Lamb were probably to reimburse them for her wrecking the buffet tables by stuffing so much food down her fat disgusting gullet.....
