I dated a girl in Atlanta for a while who lived in Iran in the late 70s. She was 9 years old in 1979 when the Islamic revolution happened. Her father worked for the US embassy or some kind of liaison operations. Not sure.
She remembers having to get out of the country quickly and leaving most of their belongings behind. They had to escape their compound in a bulletproof car. She talked about how beautiful and peaceful Iran was before the revolution.
Islam poisons everything it touches. How crazy would it be if Trump somehow orchestrated a counterrevolution/ in Iran and made it free again? A man can dream.

My uncle supervised the first oil rig off the coast of Iran. He was called, "the company man". IDK what that means, he just said he told them where to drill. I asked him how he knew, he said, ";Well, you really couldn't miss." They paid his wife to live in Iran with him to keep him happy more than most men made. He ate with the shah and overall liked the country.

It's hilarious to me that if anyone else—ANYONE else—had done this, the board would be boiling calling them a Deep State Globalist and claiming that they were starting a war for profit.
I just think the Biden admin was stupid and not strong enough on Iran.
If we don’t do anything, their actions will have long term consequences, some we are dealing with rt now.

If you didn't have one of those 1980-era carnival mirrors of Mickey mouse flipping the bird saying "Hey Iran!", are you even a southerner?

Are we pro-intervention now?
I can't speak for the rest of the board, nor do I subscribe to the theory that the general consensus here is largely monolithic, but...
I am anti-interventionist. Period.

Not me. I would actually have gained some respect for the Biden admin.
It needed to be done more so back then.
I agree.
But I'm not a populist. Maybe you're not either.

Check out vids on yt of Iranians shopping in the evening at malls etc. Looks just like here.
Except in Iran you don't see any fatties, nothing but fatties in US.

Agreed, 100%.
But again, this populist board was posting every week that Biden was trying to start WWIII.
I kept telling them exactly what you just posted, that the problems were caused by Biden not being strong enough, not by Biden being too aggressive.
Back then, in the old days, 6 months ago, I was just called names here for having that opinion.

I’m all for not starting new wars…but I’ll make an exception for Iran. Make it quick and completely overwhelming then let Israel and Saudi Arabia clean up the mess. frick the Ayatollah.

I’ve heard the exact same thing for my entire life. It’s really boring and lazy now.
Honestly, who gives a flying frick what Iranian mullahs think or say? They can’t even build boats and you idiots really believe they’re about to be nuclear?
Posted on 3/17/25 at 7:39 pm to GumboPot
You didn’t, but Israel did. Israel wants war, the US says where at?

No, the intelligence arm of the US military—who has access to classified intel and information that no one here will ever sniff—thinks they are trying to become nuclear.
And if they are correct and Iran succeeds, the fact that they have no middle class and are a bunch of low-IQ goat herders and are an extremist theocracy is exactly the problem.
