Can someone give me the answer as to why you cannot get Covid vaccine from MD office. Do not want the vaccine just raises more questions for me that no MD office will administer the shot.

Vaccines are controlled and administered by the government at this point. No private doctors have them.

Not FDA approved, it’s still experimental at this point

Probably has something to do with the short shelf life the vaccine has--as least the Moderna and Pfizer versions. IIRC, they require subzero temps for transport, and once it's taken out for use, it can't be re-frozen or whatever.

Because of the temps at which the vaccines have to be stored and that you have to give 10 doses out of each vial in relatively short order. A doctor isn't going to fill appts for people who just want a vaccine.

Lolz. The antibody treatments everybody begs for once their oxygen levels start tanking aren’t FDA approved either.

That was the case in the beginning but no longer. Once unfrozen they are reportedly good for up to a month.

First of all an MD isn’t giving a shot, secondly, primary doctors offices are giving the vaccine, my wife (who works for a doctor) has given many injections in office. But thanks for saying they don’t.

I never really understood the subzero limitation. We kept bull semen frozen in a liquid nitrogen tank out on the dairy farm 40 years ago. Literally just an aluminum tank that sat under the eave of the barn. No power or anything. The insemination company would come by and refill the tank with liquid nitrogen every few weeks while delivering their product, but it was a pretty low-key operation for keeping that stuff frozen.

Moderna - freezer of refrigerator is sufficient - 14 doses/vial

Pfizer - freezer* same as Moderna - 6 doses/vial

J&J - freezer same as Moderna - 5 doses/vial

* initially had to be stored in colder specialized freezer

Lawsuits? Maybe their malpractice insurance will not cover, if they give a vax to someone and the person has severe reactions or even die.

Cold storage and shelf life are your answers here.
