I would welcome robots running that kitchen. Maybe they would be programmed to clean the griddle every now and then.

I don't even eat McDonald's when I'm drunk.

Which is often.

McD's food just isn't good enough for what it costs. If people are going to be fat anyway, they might as well enjoy it.

I have a choice of McD's or Culver's in my town when it comes to burgers and such.

Haven't gotten food from McD's in at least 5 years. Culver's always has a line while Ronald's place does not.

*Have a Dairy Queen as well, which is a nice change of pace now and then. They have good burgers as well.

Now as far as fast-food breakfast goes, hotcakes were probably one of the better tasting items on the menu.

Having worked there in a previous career during college, the only reason those are consistent is because the hotcakes are prepared at a factory and frozen. The local restaurant just defrosts the hotcakes and then microwaves them and puts the cover on them.

If you have access to a microwave, you could buy a box of pancakes at the grocery store for the cost of 1 serving at McDonald’s.

One good thing about McDonald’s has been the fact that it owns or manages its food supply chain. While some restaurants run out of tomatoes or lettuce, it is rare for a McDonald’s to have that wide spread shortages.

During my tenure, one funny kitchen issue was presliced tomatoes. The distributor was going to send the restaurants presliced tomatoes to avoid having to slice tomatoes and keep tomatoes in the stores because of spoilage and differences in ripeness. So they sent the first few batches to the stores, in what could be described as a subplot of a horror movie, they chose a variety of tomatoes that grew back together after being sliced. So the savings of not having to slice the tomatoes were not realized, and it made the product worse.

Unfortunately, the ice cream/shake machine is a different chapter, but the machines in my tenure were pretty bulletproof. We would rarely have issues. Some of the issues we would have would be due to power outages causing the machine to reset, the every 2 week cleaning and lubing the internal parts (yes the lubricant is actually edible), someone letting the machine run dry, and someone forgetting to change the nightly boil cycle to a later time when the store would start summer hours.

I must live next to the cheapest mcds located in the parking lot of the most expensive grocery store. There's no way to beat the mcds price.

Unless there is a sturdy barrier between the patrons dining room and the automated food prep area, Worldstar is going to have some cultural videos.

Good

Especially with all the pandering to the ghetto. From the whole stupid "I'm Lovin' it" jingle, to their new promotions where every month they feature some rapper's favorite combo. Why in the Hell am I supposed to buy more burgers because of what MC Dumbass eats?

Is this being reported anywhere else?

And doesn’t make a lot of sense in terms of economy being the driver… when economy goes bad, cheap food like McDonald’s see sales increases as people move to save money.

McDonald’s Price for 3 pancakes (near me): 3.69
Walmart Price for a package of 24 pancakes: 3.74
