Remember when Elaine Chao, Trump’s former DOT secretary resigned in disgust to the Jan 6 riots:
She no doubt thought that surely the new leftists in charge would be thankful for her defection. Her defection would no doubt curry favor, right?

Didn't Peter Schweitzer write about exactly this in his book? It should be no surprise. Senators and Cabinet secretaries don't make outrageous money. They have to supplement income some way right?

is not sleeping with a CHY NESE spy not a federal ethics violation? Flying your son on AF2 to collect money from many different countries while VP, not a violation of federal ethics? Reading a phone call transcript that was knowingly fabricated to the House of Reps as if it was true, not a violation of federal ethics, only to say it was "satire" hours after the fact, and never correcting the record in Congress?
Is not spying on a campaign using false info, a federal ethics violation?
There are so many worse ethics violations in Congress, and many other federal agencies alone why would she think what she was doing was a problem?
She seriously violated ethics, but what others have done is way worse. All of them should face consequences for what they have done.

I find it hilarious this board suddenly caring about this. These allegations have been rumored for years and posted about on this board and nobody gave a damn about it back then.

Washington D.C. is just one big simmering cauldron of corruption. Just one big huge slush fund for corrupt politicians and lobbyists to exploit. I go back to FDR and I will say, without question, I've never witnessed the level of corruption in Washington, D.C. that I see today.
I thought Lyndon Johnson's Great Society was a bottomless pit of corruption and waste. Hey these democrats today could teach Lyndon Johnson a few things about running a slush fund for corrupt politicians.
