Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell on Friday urged President Donald Trump "not to worry" after the Republican-led Senate Intelligence Committee subpoenaed the president’s eldest son, Donald Trump Jr.

"I know the president's upset about that, but I think he ought not to worry about it. The chairman of the Intelligence Committee has already said the committee, when it reports, will find no collusion," McConnell told WHAS, a Kentucky radio station.

Is Turtle really still the head turtle of the establishment and is saying this for his re election? Burr is retiring so he is being used by the deep state's GOPe (What other explanation is there?) Burr has taken a lot of blow back for this; especially because his committee cleared Trump.

This is bizarre. Almost like it is a lame attempt to keep the charade going.

They sound like they are finishing a report and want to clear up confusion among witness testimonies. Perhaps there are a few instances that weren't clear in several witness testimonies and before a report is released they want to make sure they have crossed all their t's and dotted every i. Just my guess.

Why subpoena though? Just call him in to try and clear up whatever confusion.

Sen. Burr takes GOP fire over Trump Jr subpoena

Turtle is up for re election. Burr is retiring in a few years. I still don't trust turtle or Graham. Never have, never will...I sure as hell don't trust Burr or Warner.

When are they going to call Biden's boy in for questioning?

I wish I’d get subpoenaed by one of these congressional committees.

“I do not recall ...”

“I’ll have to think about that and get back to you ...”

“That’s an interesting view Senator ...”

“I’m not sure I understand the question ...”

I could go on for days like that.

This is the only answer. Also, I don't think Trump can claim executive privilege with his son not being in his administration...

I was on vacation. What happened with Nadler and Barr? Did Nadler continue to bitch about wanting something he wouldn't read in a SCIF?

So they are working backward to the pre ordained conclusion.
Whitewash.
McConnell should not have given it away. Can't he call the president and tell him the fix is in?

Any gop here on td think this was a good idea to reduce the investigation to "let's pretend"?

When they earlier interviewed him for hours and hours they said they would not call him back in.

When they decided their word means nothing he told them to pound sand.

In a span of four or five days Nadler went from saying he wanted to see everything exposed to the public to saying he didn't want to see it at the time, iirc.

In light of the Republican-led Senate Intelligence Committee subpoenaing Donald Trump Jr., Sen. Richard Blumenthal, D-Conn., said if the president's son chooses to ignore it, then he ought to be put in jail.

"If he fails to answer, he ought to be put in jail. If he fails to comply with a lawful subpoena, he has no privilege. Prison is the only answer," Blumenthal told reporters on Thursday.

Trump Jr. is being brought in front of the committee again in order to answer more questions about real estate plans for a Trump Organization project in Moscow. Blumenthal says the answers he gave to the committee in 2017 are in conflict with the report from special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation.

"There are a number of responses he gave that are challengeable based on the truth,” Blumenthal said, according to The Hill. “There are a number of areas that need to be scrutinized by the Intelligence Committee. His responses in the Judiciary Committee are certainly one of those areas.”

“I was in the room and my clear impression was that his answers were deliberately misleading and false. He said he was only peripherally aware of the negotiations in Moscow for Trump Tower there when apparently he was briefed extensively,” he said.

Chairman Richard Burr, R-N.C., has been heavily criticized by President Trump's allies, with one anonymous person saying the subpoena is an "obvious PR stunt from a so-called 'Republican' Senator too cowardly to stand up to his boss Mark Warner and the rest of the resistance Democrats on the committee."

I knew it...as seen in my last post, Junior is not protected by privilege. So they have nothing else.

Danang Dick says Junior's testimony didn't match up with convicted perjuror Cohen.

That is not the concern. McConnell knows it. DJTJr should avoid testifying is there is any reasonable way to do so. Dems plan to re-examine specific elements his 27hrs of testimony. Any apparent differences, even very minor ones, and DJTJr will be referred for perjury.
