Derschowitz and others already made a great case. By rights the Senate should dismiss without witnesses and without prejudice.
But they're gonna give this thing a shot anyways. They were given yet another out, and they didn't take it.
Whatever happens now is all on them. Not only the House Democrats, but the Senate Republicans.
frick em.

We can expect Bolton and Mulvaney only. The republicans will not get 51 votes for either Biden, Schiff, the whistleblower, IG Atkinson (the 18th witness whose transcript has yet to be released, and never will), or anyone else to help in Trump’s defense.
Is this how it works? Do they have to vote on each witness to testify? That is scary!

I keep seeing this about Schiff and the whistleblower. What possible relevance do they have as witnesses? They have no knowledge on what Trump did vis a vis Ukraine
Well it would be awfully relevant if they coordinated and collaborated while making the complaint. The “WB” would no longer be a “WB”. This would be just another thing in the long line of false accusations Schiff has made against trump. Schiff is relevant for potentially witholding exculpatory evidence. It would also reveal the strong never-trumper biases and the conflicts of interest baked into this new witchhunt after previous failures.
Side note-
you are saying the WB has no knowledge about Trump’s actions in Ukraine...How did he blow the whistle to a situation he has no knowledge of??

I’m not sure there’s a more shrewd politician in DC than Mitch McConnell.
One of the problems the Democrats have, going scorched earth during the Cavanagh hearings removes any goodwill from processes like impeachment at least for McConnell.

They are going to remove him from office!

That tweet from Schiff says they are done with the investigation phase.
Why do they need new documents and evidence and witnesses if investigation is completed? Didn’t they already have overwhelming proof that would surely be stronger than 1 dude with a ton of presumptions who passed that on as a fact to a circle of like 5 dudes.

If Democrats get bolton, Trump will get Biden. There's no universe where republican senators can vote to give dems their witnesses, Trump gets none and not expect to suffer any political consequences for it.
Democrats will get Bolton.
Republicans will not get the Bidens.
Republicans will suffer the political consequences.
That is my prediction. Republicans are weak losers.

He basically has already. You’re part of it.

Graham said they had 51 votes for any witness.

I agree. This is infuriating. Langford and Graham proposing to read the manuscript behind closed doors is ridiculous. Schumer has the high ground today on this point. The book will be published in less than 2 months anyway. Schumer makes the republicans look imbecilic, which they are.

Seven Democrat senators received campaign contributions from Hunter Biden. Who are they?
How many congressmen have kids and relatives tied up in money laundering and sweetheart deals? Both republicans and democrats?
Toomey, Romney, Graham, Murkowski, Gardner, Portman, Collins, at least.
I’ll bet the whistleblower, all the leakers, msm, are celebrating their ongoing coup. This will never end.
To think that dragging this out won’t hurt Trump’s re-election is wrong,IMO.
And here is the proof. The dems aren't making any tit for tat deals.
It is idiotic too think the dems will allow the whistle blower (because he is protected falsely under federal law and ditz's like Collins will agree) The Biden's won't happen- da fif, IG Atkinson is in ANOTHER investigation that is ongoing (which nothing will come of-- it like the other investigations in DC) So ooops he can't come on over either...

McConnell screwed the pooch. If he can't get them to coelesce Friday in order to end this, he has to be replaced.

Didn't vote for either one. I supported Rand in 2016. I regret that decision now.

The ballless Republicans should call their 3 witnesses first to one for the Democrats.

Feel free to look at my posts from 2013-2015 where I was one of the more outspoken Rand supporters on the board. Also a registered Republican and have never voted for a democrat Presidential candidate in my lifetime.
