As an American heading into 2020, this topic is completely irrelevant. Who gives a flying frick.

I want lower energy costs, lower costs for healthcare, secure borders, 401k growth, and high paying job opportunities for all.

Did Jesus actually say that? Serious question.

Well, yeah, but don't you want others to know that you have moral superiority?

No, all the relevant passages are Pauline.

The technical answer is because Nazareth is almost 90 miles from Bethlehem.
Why would that matter? Both were part of Herod’s kingdom at the time of Jesus’s birth. It was not until after Herod’s death that Archelaus ruled Judea/Bethlehem and Antipas ruled Nazareth/Galilee.

For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh

But those are Paul's words, not Jesus's.

Lets go back to what you said:

quote:

Jesus Christ favored traditional marriage between man and woman.

Where does Jesus say this?

Forgive me if my memory is bad, but I don't recall any Gospels referring to homosexuality.

You don't have to live like a refugee.

Jesus says this in the Gospel of Matthew.

Paul's letter to the Ephesians are relaying the teachings of Christ.

I've already given you 2 pro-traditional marriage passages. Explicitly stated, not implied.

Now give me a single passage that supports homosexual relations and homosexual marital rites.

You cannot.

Matthew 19:4

quote:

Some Pharisees came to him to test him. They asked, “Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife for any and every reason?”
4 “Haven’t you read,” he replied, “that at the beginning the Creator ‘made them male and female,’[a] 5 and said, ‘For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh’[b]? 6 So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate.”

I guess you could twist this to claim he is referring to heterosexuality, but he answered this in a context to a pharisee question about divorce and keeping married men and women together.

There is an endorsement of normal marriage, and a condemnation of divorce; but no specific prohibition against homosexuality in that passage. Me saying this is not an apologetic for homosexuality, I'm just saying that it isn't a clear-cut word of Jesus.

without even getting into it and just off the top of my head, try Matthew 5:17.

See also the sermon on the mount. Study what "adultery" meant.

The problem with this dumb debate is the idea that Jesus came as some moral guide. And that the Bible is a rule book.

Man, the TD "religion" ban has really been loosened. (see Matt 18:18 haha)
