Aww, why?
We need to beat the La. Constitution of 1921 record for constitutional amendments.
The Louisiana Constitution of 1921 had 536 amendments. We can beat that record if we try.
The 1921 La. Constitution was enacted with a word count of a measly 40,200 words. With a determination of purpose over the years, 536 amendments to the Constitution were enacted for a total of over 300,000 word-count.
I'm voting YES for La. Constitutional amendments until we make the 1974 Constitution even more Ridiculous than the 1921 Constitution.

Maybe we have a constitutional convention and create one that doesn't require amendment voting on everything. Maybe look at the ones in other states that have lasted for more than a century and are simple.

La is a shithole, no matter what!

Why is there a need for a constitutional amendment for things like the St. George School District? That sounds like to me a local issue that should be on the ballot just in St. George.
Why were retirement funds written into the constitution?
I can understand things like term limits and retirement age for judges for being written into the constitution.

I voted yes for schools in St. George. EBR don't want them to have em so they keep syphoning off their tax dollars.

It will never happen. That would require legislators to actually make decisions instead of passing the buck via amendments.

Wouldn’t a new constitution also require, ahem, a vote by the people. Given that the statewide amendments have been failing a constitution would likely get voted down.

Maybe amendments, but will be no break for raising taxes in EBR to fund the pay raises just handed out to everyone.
