Greenberg is a true scumbag that was involved in all kinds of shady activities.
He was a corrupt county tax collector that used his government office and budget for:
- A cover for a crypto mining operation that was located in government offices and racked up huge electricity bills, and at least once overheated and caused significant fire and water damage.
- Purchased hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of tactical gear and weapons for personal use.
- Used official tax records and accessed the state’s driver’s license database and court records to research and blackmail political opponents. As well as search for attractive, but troubled teens and young women.
- Ran a fake ID scheme that provided authentic Florida driver’s licenses to some individuals with criminal records, but was mostly used on young women and teens involved in prostitution and escorting so they could be in the company of older men in bars, nightclubs, as well as traveling with them.
Gaetz was a young, single, successful man that occasionally liked to have a good time. Did he like to hang out with Greenberg solely because they were social friends, but he was unaware of Greenberg’s illicit activities?
Or did Gaetz seek him out because Greenberg always had a supply of cocaine, MDMA, and willing young ladies?
Either way, Gaetz willingly flew too close to the sun by partaking in that lifestyle, and associating with someone like Greenberg.

Gaetz became associated with Greenberg through mutual political friends In Central Florida - that circle of friends stretched from Tallahassee to Orlando during the time Gaetz was a state rep until Greenberg resigned in 2020.
He (Gaetz) knew about the fake ID scheme - he went to the Tax Collectors office after hours with Greenberg, who was showing him how he did it.
So no, Gaetz didn’t seek him out but he was aware of the illegal actions
