Petulant child. Sad!
Being a bit closer to the situation than you, what is national may not play the same way as what plays at the local level. A big chunk of Southern Republicans are a bit of wolves in sheep's clothing and explains why modern MAGA (as opposed to original Regan MAGA) gets DJT elected but others can not count on his coat tails to win.
The State of Kentucky was about 90% Democratic prior to Ronald Regan. Since then it has flipped to about 90% Republican (with Louisville / Lexington / Northern Kentucky aka southern Cincinnati being the bulk of the remaining Democrats)
In the 1970's the man responsible for getting Richard Nixon elected in the 1970's and other prominent national Republicans used the State of Kentucky as the testing ground for the national elections that followed. I remember well the #1 person behind Mitch McConnell displacing the incumbent Democrat (Dee Huddleston aka one of the last in Congress to see the inside of Fort Knox).
Think of it this way ...
Old Kentucky Republicans aka Federalist aka Whigs
Kentucky Republicans who registered Democrat to vote in the primaries
Old Kentucky Democrats who were quite conservative
Old South Democrats who are New South Republicans
Old Kentucky Democrats
Old Kentucky Democratic - Republicans (see POTUS John Adams and Congressman Henry Clay)
Old socially progressive Democrats (see also Berea College)
Post World War II progressive Democrats
Modern East Coast / West Coast Democrats (the smallest minority in KY)
Now flip to today and the Republican Party of today ...
15% = Modern Maga
15% = Original Maga
10% = Original Republicans aka Federalist aka Whigs
60% = Former Democrats from the older Democratic choices
Kentucky is a small population state with high impact of voters actually going to the polls influenced by family / friends / faith than outside influence like Elons $$$$ and DJT's media. The discussion among actual Republicans in the state is a Party that fractures into parts once the current National and International puppet master replaces the DJT puppet with the next POTUS puppet.
Some here think it will fracture to 2 Republican parties
Modern Maga
Everybody else
Some think 3
Modern Maga
Federalist / Whig / Republican
Everybody else
Massie is very political savvy and is playing the long game as Post DJT, the Modern Mega R's are no more than 1/3 of the R's and they are, and always have been, a minority. He is old school person to person candidate which is QUITE effective in getting elected in Kentucky. He can easily pull 2/3's of the R's in KY no matter the Elon $$$$ type money from outside the state and the national media DJT hoards and distributes to Massie's opponents.
I know many would find all this hard to believe, but do not be shocked if the polls say one thing now and the actual votes cast say just the opposite.

culture wars are your big thing, you shouldn't be in this thread. Massie is about big big issues that affect global war and finance
This really does help prove my point:
Choosing to lose the culture war is batshit insane. Culture is too important to throw away. Culture is everything.
British style woke censorship is a very real threat. Thats what the left wants to do here.
Do you really think otherwise?!

Cult45 doesn't care about the facts.
They're still butthurt at Massie because he endorsed RDS.

Seems like he is slowly trying to suicide his political career to me...guess we will see.
The way he has been acting lately leads me to believe the internal polling numbers are not to his liking.

Bro reached way back. I thought these two were Federalists/ Whigs with Clay's American System built off of the ideals of Hamilton? I could be wrong though, parties came and went and merged so much back then.

You can't "win" or "lose" the "culture war"
Culture is not a static thing and changes over time, moving back and forth along multiple spectrums.
Only simpletons think of it in a binary sense.

Even if you could consolidate "culture" into a specific time period, you couldn't even get people who broadly agree with your bad rhetoric to agree on which date they'd pick to freeze culture.

You're pivoting from culture, now.
You are bad at this.

[embed]Narcissism is a complex and multifaceted personality disorder that is deeply rooted in insecurity and fear. The inflated ego of a narcissist is not a sign of confidence but rather a protective barrier designed to shield them from their own perceived inadequacies.[/embed]

You do realized copying and pasting that into 2 random discussions where it has no place is more narcissistic than anything I've done this morning, right?

No one is choosing to lose the culture war you idiot

I’m not scared of Massie. No one is advancing a cogent argument for what he’s accomplishing.

1) You mean, like you linking a totally unrelated thread of mine the other day?
2) You ARE a classic case of an insufferable narcissist. I'm simply telling the truth about you, you dysfunctional dimwit.

Ok, lets get back on track......
They are 2 different discussions. Both important. All of these issues are important.
We seem to agree on some of those issues, so there is nothing for me to pivot from.
Where a discussion could be had is where we might disagree.
Do we even disagree on those 5 other issues? You running from the discussion makes that unclear. Try to clarify this for the board.

In the current time, the left is pushing far left and hard against common sense, which is a major threat.
In the future, they want to take it even further, which aligns with your "not a static" idea.
You certainly do lose if you allow them to place their woke nonsense in all facets of your life. The consequences are very real.

No, I am not. That woke extreme far-left censorship is a direct product of woke culture.

There has been the expected backlash to this move. Then the right will go too far, and then the left will get a backlash to that. And the world keeps going as it always has.
Now, the net will be more left, because that's what happens in successful societies, but it will largely vacillate among several spectrums.

You create a presumption/argument of permanence, which is the overriding problem with your argument/mindset.

Nope, you're the dipshit that was arguing with me during covid constantly. You can try and pretend like all that never happened, but I saw just how much of a leftist you are first hand. Now you're over here trying to pretend like you're conservative. You consume every mainstream narrative like it's straight from the mouth of God.
So go get another booster shot you fake arse bitch.

Your purity will only be tolerated for so long if you can’t manage to win elections. It’s really that simple.
