The GOP base really doesn't want the end of spending, they like their roads, schools for their kids, medicare, and SSI. Y'all going to hate to hear this but the truth is that a lot of the GOP base is emotionally immature with a tinge of narcissism. When they say "we want budget cuts" they mean "we want you to take away government functions or benefits from some other person who is not me and give me a bigger tax return."

At the very least, they want the woke OUT

I know that's a joke, but Massie is one of about 5 actual conservatives in all of the legislative branch.

NOW it's all cool and he's the man, again.

Every single one of those items can be properly funded and enormous cuts still be made to the administrative services and reductions in bullshite grants to everything.

So now that Trump is exceeding even Massie's expectations in terms of identifying spending cuts you still have to take a dig at Trump supporters from previous internecine political battles?

Okay you get your internet +1 award.

What now? Will you support DOGE and the president's suggestions for spending cuts going forward along with Massie?

There were multiple threads over multiple days melting about their actions, so no.

Here is a 16 page thread on it

Eric Daugherty has a great take on RINOs like Chip Roy

Remember that time Chip Roy aligned with the Bush regime to try to oust Ken Paxton?

These 38 Republicans voted against the Trump-backed spending bill

That's just from about 3 minutes of googling without getting into specifics

Has Trump even given a formal budget or disseminated these proposed spending cuts?

I await the suggestions to analyze them.

I think they're mainly afraid of losing all that graft that comes along with government spending.

believe it or not jethrine, you live in a city, in a county, in a state and 90% of the government that you can see, touch and feel happens to you at one of those three levels most american's now pay no income tax.

by the looks of it we're losing about 1/3 of social security to fraud, and i'm going to guess we're losing at least that much to a half of defense spending which i would be more than happy to cut.

Start with the low hanging fruit.

USAID cut except for programs specifically endorsed by Rubio.

Medicare and SS - full audit of questionable payments. Anything found to be truly fraudulent - cut those out immediately.

Remove all money for DEI initiatives.

Remove all money for green subsidies.

Fund everything else pending a full report by DOGE once they determine what is real fraud and what is FedGov or other errors in the system. At this point we don’t know for certain. Have the IRS investigate every Medicare, Medicaid and SS recipient that doesn’t look legit.

This really will take about two years to root out due to the scope of the problem
