Who is disputing we can't respond against the Houthis directly?
We're discussing attacking Iran. A completely different scenario.
Where you are having problems is spinning the Houthi issue into a justification for intervention in Iran (see above)

There are also reports that Russia plans to give arms supplies such as AK-74s and anti-ship Yakhont missiles to the Yemeni militia. Moreover, military advisors from Russia’s foreign military intelligence agency, the GRU, are reportedly present in Houthi-held territory.

Again, very few people are openly against responding to the Houthis directly, in Yemen.
