Take this race, for instance
The results of this race have no bearing on the simple fact that Trump is the leader of the GOP at this moment in time. There are no false premises you can submit that will alter that reality.

I think his point is you're bandwagoning with the GOPE, and there was a time that was decidedly not MAGA.

Who? Trump or Massie?

Oh his point is about me and not the topic? That's probably why I missed it.
And I'm even doing that. Massie went against the GOP and is therefore required to win without GOP backing. Once again yall are speaking message board rhetoric. I, like Massie and his attempted endorsement theft, understand reality.
Campaigns and elections are party driven. It's not new under Trump. It's the way this whole operation many of you pretend to be experts in has worked since America's inception.

When you're posting opinions, how are we supposed to respond without it being about you, at least tangentially?

How'd he go against the GOP?
And however you perceive him going against the GOP, how does that compare to a handful of GOP congressmen holding up the SAVE Act, which has about 90% GOP support?

The trend is even more intersting. I know you guys like trends.

Massie is a pos. So are the people that defend him. "But he doesn't take money from APAIC!" Yeah, that isn't why I don't like him. He is a RINO! He is being endorsed by Democrats. I hope he gets voted out.

It would be more interesting to see what he voted against the GOP on.
Some of today's news is an example - GOPE is claiming Massie voted against the SAVE Act. Massie says that's BS and he supports the SAVE Act. So who's keeping score here?

Sure that's interesting for discussion. Hopefully he highlighted that to his potential voters. I'm sure the average KY4 resident will hear him out.
Now, pretend you're the GOP. Would you care in this case?

Privacy and fiscal restraint are things that Massie has voted for and where he’s parted ways with the GOP. I’m old enough to remember when this board liked those things.

I have detailed that on the last page.
He voted against it in a procedural vote because he did not like a part of it.
Had he been able to pull 1 more gop congressman, the save act would not have passed.
The part was a suspension of a 24 hour notice on bills.

What is the "GOP"?
I laugh but that's really the point here. MAGA circa 2016 opposed the surveillance state, wanted the swamp drained, and hell - MAGA circa 2024 wanted mass deportations. But MAGA circa 2026 supports forever renewals of the Patriot Act, the swamp being flooded by dollars, and is happy/content with deporting 30K per month.
So you're right in a sense: the Trump/Thune GOPE is what it is, and there's no room for an outspoken small-government conservative under that tent.

What is the "GOP"
That's the abbreviation for the Grand Ole Party, or more commonly known as the Republican party. Currently lead by Donald Trump, and the current party affiliation for the congressman in question, Thomas Quantavius Massie, esquire.

So Massie is counting on playing down to the lowest info voters ? Those would be democrats though
Well the low-info (D) voters are going to struggle if they're considering voting for Massie and now they think Trump endorsed him.
And I'm on record of not being fond at all of Massie for the last year or so, but you combine all the crap that has come out about him recently and now you see this deliberately disingenuous crap coming out right now, and it pretty much affirms (in my worthless opinion) that Massie really is a world-class PoS.
I'll go as far as to say that I really don't think there's a completely correct "team" to be on right now, because they're all corrupt... but I definitely don't want to associate even remotely with Camp Massie right now. And I'm also very much on record as being a supporter of Lauren Boebert and I've taken up for her through all of the dumb crap she's done, but this situation is another one where someone rapidly removed themselves from my "favorites" list.
This has been a weird 17 months. At the beginning of it, I was respectful and mostly supportive of Massie, Boebert, MTG, Megyn Kelly, Tucker, Shawn Ryan, Ben Shapiro, Mark Levin, etc. but they all made some incredible reversals on long-held positions in a relatively short time frame. It's off-putting and highly suspect at a time when my inherent suspicious and pessimistic natures are already exacerbated by known facts and apparently but unconfirmed theories.

Yeah, I'm not a big fan of it but he's like a churchlady when it comes to procedures and rules. That's how Trump's hissy fit with him started on the Trump/Pelosi Covid relief bill - Massey wanted to have an in-person recorded vote to pass such a huge spending bill rather than a voice vote in an empty chamber.
