Unlike the Alanis Morissette Morrisette song, this actually is extremely — and hilariously — ironic!

If you want to criticize Massie for prioritizing philosophical principle over political pragmatism, that’s a legitimate criticism and a fair debate.
Massie cares about the process more than the outcome. That makes for an ineffective legislator. There is no other way to construe this statement:
quote:
What Massie opposes is how Congress regularly funds Federal agencies, not on whether ICE should be funded.
I can't for the life of me figure out why so many conservatives accept this line of thinking. Massie isn't against the funding, but if they don't fund it his way, then he is going to vote against the funding he supports. Where is the logic in that?
How is cutting off your nose to spite your face honorable to so many conservatives? It's literal insanity to forego the results you claim to support simply because the procedure was different than you prefer.
It's nothing but self-importance. "It has to be my way or I'm not working with the 200+ people elected to fulfill the same agenda I was."

The mental gymnastics you are doing to claim Massie’s “no vote” against funding ICE was really a “yes vote” in disguise is truly something.
Let’s make it real simple: Massie voted against a bill to fund ICE. That is a fact. Whatever his motivations, that’s the reality of his vote.

I hope that one day they'll include the funding that will pay for all of their spending instead of putting 40% on the debit card

Yes, Massie voted against a bill that included funding for ICE. Yet as mentioned by Jung above, the bill also included billions for other agencies, like CISA, yet another alphabet misinformation agency.
So Massie likewise voted against funding a Deep State agitprop operation. That also is a FACT.
Republicans Want To Keep Funding Liberals’ Favorite Censorship Agency….
A new Congressional spending package includes billions of dollars for an arm of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) that previously collaborated with private entities to censor online speech, including suppression of the validity of Hunter Biden’s laptop in 2020.
The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) would receive $2.2 billion for 2026 funding as part of a package currently being considered by the House of Representatives, according to the bill’s text.
Created in 2018 by President Donald Trump to “carry out cybersecurity, infrastructure security, and emergency communications stakeholder outreach and engagement,” CISA quickly became a tool for cracking down on “misinformation,” including through the facilitation of the “Election Integrity Partnership” (EIP), which flagged content to be removed from various social media sites — including Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, and TikTok — during the 2020 election.
The agency also worked to discredit reporting on Hunter Biden’s laptop by linking it to QAnon and Pizzagate conspiracy theories, with one CISA employee calling the story a “convoluted web of falsehoods being spread to undermine Joe Biden,” according to documents obtained by the America First Legal Foundation in 2023…

We had to burn the village in order to save it. That’s basically Massie’s twisted logic.
