Thats my first thought as well, theres probably alot of sad pictures to be taken on those streets, but maybe the guy crashed into a power pole or something.

Vehicles can damage electrical equipment.
In the mid to late 90s, power to most of Midcity NOLA was knocked out for most of a night because a drunk drove into a substation.

I can’t imagine taking the time to back into the driveway. Doesn’t the driver realize the damage immediately will show that was the vehicle.

The footage from the rooftop video clearly showed the car running over at least a few bodies like a speed-bump. I would not be surprised if that is where the fatalities occurred.
