Maryland county first on East Coast to ban natural gas heat for new buildings

How stupid can eco-libs be? Do they think electricity comes from the fairy god mother?
Meanwhile, the EU has declared CH4 to be a green fuel since it has only one carbon atom.
Electric heating in NYC can run $400 to $600 per month for a one bedroom apartment that is never warm enough.

Montgomery County, Md., on Tuesday enacted the East Coast's first countywide ban on using natural gas for heating purposes in new buildings.
County Executive Marc Elrich has not yet signed the ban into law, but is expected to do so as he has previously voiced support for the measure, according to Energy Wire. The nine members of the Montgomery County Council, all Democrats, voted unanimously to enact the Comprehensive Building Decarbonization plan, which is slated to take effect in 2026.
A template of the plan, introduced earlier this year, stated that 50% of the county's greenhouse gas emissions for the year 2017 came from environmental inefficiencies, which the new all-electric standards would gradually work to reduce.

I hope the commercial real estate agents and business owner Democrats who voted for their new Governor in MD are happy about saving the planet.
They can all give themselves a nice and long slow clap while they see their energy bills rise by several orders of magnitude now.
BuilD bACk beTtEr!

So, no carbon in any new building... This should be interesting...

I'm shocked, shocked I tell you.

So, does this include every new residential home as well?
Does that mean every occupant of a new home that is built to this code which restricts usage of natural gas have to potentially pay higher heating energy bills relative to using natural gas?
Shocked, shocked I tell you.

No. That's not what this means. But I'm sure that won't stop you from going on about it. And you will find a willing audience here.

What? You mean pols came up with a catchy name that doesn't mean what it says for a plan that is utterly stupid?
I am so glad you pointed that out to me... Your service to this board is absolutely immeasurable...

100% chance you made this up

Geez...we really need a way to figure out where all these people are getting these ideas and how they are benefiting from them. This is not "best for my constituency" kind of move. Same as how ALL the Soros backed DAs seem to be following the same evil gameplan. That's not organic, and not repping the people they are suppose to be serving.
Apparently, Biden just tripled+ the value of carbon payments that companies are going to have to pay to offset their "imprint." Was like $50 per "xyz" and now its in the $190/"xys". NG gonna go up up up up

This is from the link within the article that is linked above...

In other words, they are implementing it and have no clue how it will affect their constituents...
Typical liberal, "say it and it happens" mentally with a plan that relies on unicorn farts and fairy dust...

Tell the residents in this Maryland County to unpack an extra blanket. It gets a bit nippy during winter.

What are they going to do, switch back to coal?
Posted on 12/1/22 at 3:12 pm to Auburn1968
Probably going to put a damper on the new construction market.

Everyone works from home anyway.

We don’t need no stinking heat or hot water!
