Republicans are going to cave on mail in ballots in the stimulus bill. They want to get rid of Trump as bad as the Democrats and will accept becoming a permanent minority party in order to accomplish this. The Democrats will give them a few bones like getting their favorite foods in the cafeteria and the GOP will be happy.

This is true.

Republicans in Congress with rare exception, do not support Trump at all.

They hate having to defend him, they won't campaign for him or support him on critical issues.

They see an easier life as looking like the opposition party to what will be a disaterous Biden Presidency.

It's a short-sighted view because when the Dems control everything they will end the filibuster, generate tens of millions of new Democrat voters through amnesty and seal forever their hold on power.

Republicans don't see that the Democrat agenda is all about turning Republicans into a permanent minority party.

Like Republicans in California.

Good thing he is not in control of what goes on at the state level.
