Not sure how I feel about this. Sure, she's an arrogant entitled teen....but damn...she's a dumb kid ...like all other kids. Not really her fault what her parents did. Even if she knew....a kid is gonna go along with what mom and dad say they need to do with things like this. She's getting blasted. If she were a mature adult who has been exposed to the real world, I'd get it. But, through no fault of her own, she's a sheltered dumb brat who went along with what mom and dad said...and she is getting crucified for it. Just seems a bit harsh imo.... Flame away....

I agree with you. Lord knows what would come up on me and my friends if we had access to a mature, global Twitter platform at that age. We grew up and matured outside the public eye; unfortunately, this kid will not be able to do the same.

I agree in principle, but isn't she a YouTube "influencer" with 2 million subscribers?

She may only be 19 but she has put herself in the spotlight for personal gain for a while.

Facing the wrath of online trolls comes with the territory.

She certainly doesn't deserve sympathy. And she doesn't get to keep the unearned status.

I'd say that she deserves to be treated with some degree of understanding depending on what she does now. 19 is old enough to face the facts about her upbringing and make some sore of move toward maturity and responsibility. To the degree she does that, she can re-earn a condition deserving empathy.

Wealth envy runs very deep in some people, especially liberals and this is giving them a good opportunity to vent about it.

I get that she is a spoiled brat who has been pampered her whole life but the way I see things it doesn't bother me much because it's their money, not mine and I see no reason to go ballistic over it.

As far as the legal troubles that is between them and the law, her parents will have to face up to what they did and pay whatever penalties that stem from it and her status as a student may be compromised.

Same here.
It’s shitty and entitled, but I can’t see the criminality.

You don’t understand why bribing standardized test administrators and college admissions officials is a crime?

You don’t understand why paying someone a million dollars in a suitcase is illegal? Last tune I checked tax evasion is illegal, ask Paul Manafort.

Fraud is a crime.

What is fraud? Essentially it’s lying in an official way.

Fake charities were created. Celebs donated to the fake charity knowing the cash was going to be used as bribes to get their kids into school. When you donate to a charity there is a disclosure that says “no good or services were exchanged”. Well services were exchanged for their money. Celebs then wrote the “donations” off on their taxes

SJWs are now using using this example to push to get rid of all charity write offs on your taxes which is BULLSH!T

Is it legal tender?

The bribe sure I guess is illegal- she paid a million?

See Man4others post above to see why it’s illegal.

“Legal Tender” passing in illegal ways is illegal. If you don’t understand that then I can’t help you.
