Centrist Sen. Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) announced on Thursday that his top-line spending number for the budget reconciliation package is $1.5 trillion, far below the $3.5 trillion spending goal set by the budget resolution that he and every other Senate Democrat voted for last month.

Manchin confirmed that he signed a memorandum of understanding with Senate Majority Leader Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) at the end of July setting $1.5 trillion as his spending limit for President Biden’s Build Back Better agenda and explained he did so as a precondition for voting for the Senate budget resolution in August.

He will be bought and cave in the end. We've seen this old, tired script many times. It's insulting, really.

I think he already has, but not by the usuals.

I believe the Fed got to him. The 5T spending proposal is not realistic or sustainable and they know it.

Hell, look at where we are right now in terms of inflation.

I can’t imagine how much paper waste they go through at Congress

Reprinting all these 1000+ page bills all over the place only to have to scrap it and rewrite it and reprint it god knows how many times

Manchin is going to get something for WV that is going to make the Cornhusker Kickback seem like child's play.

Fairmont WV ( Manchin’s home town where he and his brother own land) will be the site of the new Space Force Academy!

With any luck, the progressive caucus will flip out and throw a fit, and both the "bipartisan infrastructure" and BBBA will die.
