Lol if you make the currency worthless and pay off the debt, the debt obligation is still gone. See the Weimar Republic.
I’m not advocating for that, I’m just pointing out that inflation/dollar devaluation is going to have to play a role, along with economic growth, to pay off the debt.

You can't inflate debt away. You assume the debt doesn't inflate even faster. It usually does. And the Weimar Republic debt grew faster while their currency crumble. This is why it lead to desperate WW2.

They don't care because they do not intend to ever pay it down.
