Well that’s bullshite. All these poors need to have skin in the game.
They should transfer payroll tax to individual income taxes so that the poors will understand just how much they pay to the government to waste it all.
On top of that - automatic tax withholding from W2 earnings should be illegal. Wage earners should have to write a fricking check to the government every two weeks so they can understand the impact of just how much money the government is stealing from them.
Then they might have an incentive to become republican and to lower taxes.
