I’ve gotten a summons every year but have always gotten the pass because my son was under 12. He turns 12 in October so I’m guessing I’ll find out what it’s like here within the next year.

St Bernard is actually very good example of where this could be an issue. Unless it’s some random hood rat from down the road, there’s no way people in St Bernard are separated by more than 2-3 people.
yeah one of the witnesses in this case was an old classmate from high school, and one of my fellow jury mates during voir dire was a teacher that I go to football games with and help do statistics with lol

How long have you been N. TX?

It's almost 5 years for me.

Right. But those are easy ways to get off the jury. Say that isn’t the case and you don’t know the defendant, what are the odds that you know someone who does?

Before Katrina, it would be really hard.

After Katrina, we're a bit more diverse, but still likely

Moved to Plano in 2004 and Frisco in 2012. Only people I knew in Plano were from the LSU Alumni Assn and those were really scattered all over DFW. I feel like I know 1/2 of Frisco after being here 6 years

For example, I can guarantee that you know me, my brother or my stepfather. Maybe even all 3

Good peeps up here. I don't get much social time though.

I have an apartment here and a house in S.E. La. So I'm 50/50 time split.

Maybe I'll join up with a football watch party this fall.

I haven’t gone to a watch party in a while. We tend to host watch parties at our home now or another friend does. Pretty decent LSU population up here. Post to me during the season and I’ll let you know where and when we will be hitting a bar to watch the game. I’m actually trying to organize and SEC pub crawl in early October to watch the 10:30: 2:30, etc games at different bars in Plano/Frisco area with some other SEC fan bases.

I don't know that I see a "travesty," but your scenario is one that I had not considered. The few could sometimes convince the many.
