Sure would be nice to know who voted against the anti-groomer bill.

So 7 out of 11 in the committee are pro grooming children. Got it.
There are 14 members of the LA House Education committee. Comment in link say three Republicans didn’t show up to vote. This is politics as usual but unconscionable. I can’t find the roll call vote yet.
I made the decision this month to homeschool my granddaughter for third grade next year (I’m her legal guardian) and the decision is looking better every day, even though we live in an “A” grade school district.

Not shocked at all by Freeberh. She’s always a backstabber on anything remotely conservative. She’s a stooge of the teacher’s union.

If you "love your child" you would be involved in their school enough to know what they are teaching or not teaching.
Try doing that when no parents are allowed in the school buildings for past two years with ZERO scheduled parent-teacher conference days. There are ZERO textbooks, almost entirely on a Chromebook and although I can view the formal curricula, my granddaughter lately has been talking about apps she has access to that I can’t see.
I’m done with it, though it makes me sad because this is a small community school, she’s a fifth generation student there (more if you count the one-room country schoolhouses that were consolidated around 1900). She’s very bright and the third grade is nothing but teach the test, which I’m sure she would ace, but why waste a year of her elementary education on that? Add in the SEL tripe and the decision was easy, except for the disappointment in our school system.
ETA: We are homeschooling next year. My first post about it flaked out.

Who is not in favor of protecting our children from sexual predators?
Anybody....who voted against it?

Tell me that you're not such a low-life piece of shite that you support sexual predation on kindergartners!

There are no real GOP in Louisiana. They are political opportunists who run as Republicans to get elected, but continue to vote like the Democrats they really are.

Are you all really in favor of teachers being punished for even mentioning that they are married and have a wife/husband?
Why would a teacher even bring this topic up? I’m pretty sure this has nothing to do with any subject taught in school other than sex education. I’ll admit that I don’t even know if they teach sex education in schools these days but I know they didn’t back in the day when I was in school.

Research has shown over and over that forming a good relationship with students produces much better results overall.
This is bullshite. A kid doesn’t even need to know the teacher is a dog or cat person to form an effective educational relationship.
